Thank you, Pam. We have made many efforts to keep connected with her. Since they didn't have childen it has been harder but she has made an effort as well. I can't tell you how happy I am that shewill be here with all of us for the day and for the night.
Our son and his wife and 2 year old will be here any minute. That little one is such a joy, too , and we are hoping the cousins will play together. Tomorrow morning our youngest son and his new wife will be here. We will be as happy as we can be without Aaron with us..but his spirit is here already. Carol carol

Happy moment for today or rather happy moments. DH being home early and going out fro breakfast/lunch. The joy of Christmas packages, the warm feeling from knowing someone took time and care. A lovely Christmas Eve service, beautiful music, beautiful message. Knowing that no matter what I get done or don't get done Christmas will still come and with it hope, peace and joy.
May Christmas bring us the gentleness of memories.

Corinne, Wonderful news! Wishing David the very best! Happy moment for me. I have all the ornaments off the tree and wrapped and in their storage bin. DH got home yesterday afternoon and we will soon go to breakfast then library, grocery, pharmacy and post office And big happy moment. Yesterday we had the "official" announcement that the Dayton Salvation Army has received the funding for a Kroc Center. That is a 37.5 million building from the 1.6 billion bequest to The Salvation Army left by Joan Kroc (McDonalds). We are all very excited. This center is so very important, will serve the youth of the community with many programs. I am very, very happy about this as I am so very proud of where I work. The 1.6 billion is divided among our 4 territories, 2 centers in Ohio got funding. Well, off for a shower and then dh can shower and we can get the day started.

Happy moments today.
DH got home early yesterday morn. We are now getting ready to go for breakfast/lunch.
We did not get the snow that had been anticipated! ;D
Anticipating curling up later with a good book and a cup of tea or hot chocolate.
Simple pleasures are often the best. They are more attainable and we can enjoy them each day.
Anyone else having a happy moment?

Finally the weather people were right and we got 6-8" of snow overnight. I was still sleeping and I thought I heard a truck nearby but the dogs weren't barking. When I really woke up I figured I had been dreaming about the sound but it was true; my good neighbors had plowed my driveway! That is truly a happy moment for me! Also, the sun is shining and the sky is bright blue-it looks so beautiful against the snow. We've had so many gray days it's really a treat to have a day like this. Here's hoping we all have a peaceful day. Love, Gina

You have great neighbors, Gina. DH has done that for a couple of our neighbors too. He goes out to plow and will clear the ends of the driveways on his way out. You know that awful heavy wet stuff the street plowers leave for you?

Finally I have a happy moment! ;D That sounded bad... My DH had a birthday party for me last night. (I have never had a birthday party before, even as a child - no really) My house was full of people for the first time since Ally died. Everyone had a good time. I will never forget the look on my DH's face as he was holding my cake and singing happy birthday to me. He was beaming! (or maybe it was the amount of candles and the large flame from them ) I think he was more excited than me! It made me feel good to know I have friends who care. I am sure you can relate to how painfully quiet our lives become after our children died. There are many "friends" I had before who I never hear from anymore. But last night was so much fun! My happy moment - my first birthday party! ;D ;D
