Sad day for me today. My oldest cat Mitzi became very sick on the weekend, a public holiday weekend here, so no vets open. She sopped eating and drinking and didn't move from my bed. She lost weight rapidly and her mouth was very sore. I managed to get dribs and drabs down her but had to take her to the vet this morning. He offered several choices, including "that one" with no guarantee it would last beyond the surgery stay. As she is almost 16 and had little quality of life recently, I couldn't put her through that stress, so....she is no longer with us.

((((((((hugs))))))) I am so sorry, Janet. Losing a pet is hard. How are you doing with the treatments?

(((((((((((((((((Janet)))))))))))))))
I am just seeing this. I am so sorry. It is hard to lose one of our furry toddlers. Mitzi had a good home and knew she was loved. Sending many hugs.

I am so sorry for your loss it is the only part of owning a animal a friend. I hate having to do this but I will not let any of my animals suffer. you did the right thing and as hard as it is you know you did the right thing for your friend. Did you bury your friend on your property some can;t do this I had this one time I went to the woods and burried my animal. I will not lat a vet have them, they are put with other animals and burried like a commoner. I am truely so sorry for your loss

I got the results of my CT scan on Tuesday and it is good. I wasn't expecting any change so soon after starting treatment, especially as they decreased my dosage because my haemoglobin was very low, necessitating a couple of blood transfusions (what fun that was) Anyway, a couple of the digestive lymph nodes that have small growths have decreased in size, not the lungs or liver yet. It is all better than I hoped for, obviously the chemo is doing something, for which I am so thankful. I have started the second cycle of treatment and now I feel a lot more confident of the eventual results. Fortunately the side effects have been minimal after the first couple of times and I am coping well with it all, so I have been very lucky. Thank you for your well wishes ladies Love Janet xxxxxx
