So after a huge meltdown at my OB appt last week and them originally not going to induce til 39 Weeks I found out today they decided to go ahead and induce at 38 Weeks for medical reasons. She is head down so I no longer have to have a c section. Dr said they would schedule it anytime after the 10TH whatever they had available and it just so happened the only 2 days available were the 13th which is my 30th bday or the 14th Valentine's day. They thought I would choose Valentine's Day but I chose my bday because what would be a better gift than that! So I will be having her on the 13th. They are going to use pitocin which I am a lil worried about because everyone swears I will need an epi to survive the pain an I wanted to go natural but at this point I just want her here and am hoping to go as long as possible with no pain meds or epi. They might admit me the night before to insert a Foley bulb to help dilate me depending on how much I have progressed next week. I was a good 1cm today and very soft. The PA checks me first but then my OB did and I think he might have tried to stretch me or something cause whatever he did hurt like crazy! I am still having pain tonight and spotting so I guess we will see where things are at next week! I cant believe next week will probably be my last OB appt and that my lil' girl will be here in 2 Weeks!
Rachel, how are you? I know you had said a while back you might be having your lil one around the same time...

Yay, not much longer! I've had 2 inductions and been able to go natural both times. My pitocin induction was much easier than my cytotec induction. I wonder if he tried to sweep your membranes. That can hurt. Usually, checking you doesn't.
I'm thinking of asking on Friday how far they're going to let me go before calling it quits assuming baby and I stay healthy enough or baby doesn't come on its own. I'm 35 weeks tomorrow, so really hoping baby will come soon on its own. And hope it's a girl as we don't have a boy name, lol.

Oooooh getting soooo close! It does sound like your ob tried to sweep your membranes...although I did have a couple of exams from different doctors that were worse than others. Ugh!
What a wonderful birthday present for you (unless baby decides to arrive sooner). :-)

Rachel, glad to hear it's still possible to go natural with Pitocin. I do think he tried to sweep my membranes. Still spotting and lost what apparently was part of my mucus plug this AM. It was lots o mucus with red streaky blood stuff so hopefully that means things are moving along I hope the Dr gives you some good news Fri an that they let you know how long they are gonna let you go an I hope your BP stays good! Dawn, yes I think so too and I agree about some exams being worse than others. I have found that usually female OB' s are rougher even though the PA at my OB' s office was very gentle and she ha way smaller hands! Lol...As much as I want her her now I will gladly wait til the 13th so I can have everything planned. Now if she decides she wants me to go into labor on my own on the evening of the 12th well then I will take it (would sure beat pitocin!) and could still possibly have her after midnight on the 13th
