Back to the ER again today with cramps and bleeding. Baby is alive. The ultrasound showed that my two small hematomas have merged into one 6.8 cm hematoma. I am on absolute bedrest until the baby comes in November. I'm starting to freak out over this. I can't hold my toddler or play with her unless she is sitting next to me. I can't potty train her. I can't get up to get a book. Only to pee. How can I get through this? I can't stop mothering my girl for 7 months.

Biggest hugs I can imagine!! What a challenge! Certainly write to here daily if you like! ?Journal, ?Start a blog?, ?write a book about this experience? ?Find a site with other mothers going through the same thing?? Please accept any help offered. So sorry you will be limited on what you can do with your daughter.

Good news! I saw a perinatalogist on Wednesday. He said the subchorionic hematoma has shrunk by half, and it is next to but not impacting the gestational sac. He thinks I'll be able to go back to work in two weeks!!! Two weeks is a lot better than seven months, and I'm relieved the baby is doing well. (I found my ultrasound report before I went in to see him and the sch was much larger than the gestational sac on Monday, which is probably why the ER was so extreme in their bedrest mandate.) I'll see him again for another ultrasound before I go back, and stay off my feet until then. I still can't pick up my daughter, but we're working with that. I can handle two weeks. Or even a month, if it comes to that.

Glad things are looking less threatening. I had a huge hematoma that was the size of a calve's liver (their description) that was caught in my 6 week u/s when I was pregnant in 2002-2003 with my dd. I was told to not lift my son that was just turning 2 right before my dd was due. It was scary. I begged my mom to come up from Florida to help and she refused. I ended up teaching my toddler how to climb in and out of his high chair and many other things. My older son that was 6 going on 7 helped so much. I bled on and off. The cool thing was that at my 28 week u/s, the hematoma was no longer there. It reabsorbed into my body and they took me off bedrest that I couldn't adhere to. She made it and I am so thankful. In the beginning, it looked hopeless. But, she is going to be 9 years-old in Aug. I sometimes think I had alarmist-type doctors...but maybe they were just being very cautious since I had miscarried 2 months before I got pg with her at 12 weeks along. I wish you and baby the best outcome in this situation, Sorry I didn't write sooner.....Been WAY too busy lately. Tobias is on the move and so many other things. I have terrible insomnia tonight and the last few nights...........Please keep updating. My thoughts and prayers are with you dear.
