Working on figuring out insurance, and DH's insurance doesn't cover infertility . Their coordination of benefits provision is also not in my favor, so it is pretty much stupid for me to keep both insurances. My insurance sucks for infertility (only paid at 50%), but thats better than zero. poo

Hi, Ellie, Haven't talked to you in a long time; congrats on your marriage! Re: infertility coverage, believe it or not, 50% is MUCH better than what most people get. I would jump right on keeping that policy. (Apparently Massachusetts mandates insurance coverage for infertility; don't think that I haven't seriously considered moving there just for that!) I don't know how far you've gotten in the process yet, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that whatever treatments you need stay in the simple and less-expensive range. Clomid, for example, is under $70 a month (without insurance) and definitely worth trying. Good luck!

Thank you I think I will stick with my current plan, which is the one that has the infertility coverage. Heck, its only a month away from my open enrollment anyway, which will give us another chance to revisit it. Kev and I have open enrollment at different times which will be beneficial if one of our companies starts offering better or suckier insurance.

I would definatly keep up with that insurance that pays 50 percent. It gets expensive that is for sure. Also talk with dr and they migh be able to find wordings to get some of it covered by getting bundle lab work and stuff. also this may help for anyone needing fertility treatments. never know your state may mandate coverage. 15 states require it. www.fertilitylifelines.com/payingfortreatment/state-mandatedinsurancelist.jsp
