I am new to this site and was told by a friend that this is a great place to correspond with other women going through similar situations. My story:
I have currently have a 13 yr old daughter and miscarried my last preg in 1998 due to a hematoma. Though the D&C was a horrible time for me as well as the many wks that followed with constant pain, passing of clots, etc. I later discovered from the doctor who performed the D&C that I had an open blood vessel, which caused the hematoma. I just remarried in 08 and my husband and I have been trying to concieve for 2 yrs now with no luck. I have been in and out of the doctor's office for testing, firtility drugs, etc for about a yr. I was treated with Clomid for 6 months, ending in April, 10. All prog tests came out postive, husband's spirm count was normal, and by April, had a HSG test done, which also showed positive results. According to the doc, it's all in a matter of timing as eevrything appears to be fine. My cycles are somewhat irregular, most times a 32 day cycle, though my last cycle was 28 days. During clomid tmt, I was consistantly ovulating on day 18 of my cycle. I have a history of ovarian cysts but was told on more than one occasion from doctors that ovarian cysts do not interfere with conception. The ovarian cysts have always been an indicator to me that I am close to or am ovulating as it occurs during that time. We have tried everything, sex every other day, "pre-seed" lube, which statistics have shown to be successful for trying pregnancies, etc. Each month seems to end in tears and and sadness, (to me, Agony) by dissappointment! Seems the more we try, the more pregnancies are discovered all around us. A friend recently told me that two doses of Robitussin a day for an entire cycle is helpful for trying to concieve. This was the 2nd time I heard this trick. So, this month, like all others we are crossing our fingers, though I try not to focus entirely on the issue, but rather keep my mind occupied to avoid stressing about it. It's been 11 yrs since I was last pregnant and I'm beginning to wonder if I can even have any more. I am 33 and I never thought I would find myself in this position, but here I am. I've spent an enormous amount of money on doctor visits, as well as the monthly costs of ovulation tests, preg tests, etc. We have been praying for a miracle and will continue. Does anyone have any suggestions, alt. firtility options to consider, or any advise by any means to our situation??
