Ok, I admit it, I need new cake pans! I made a cake for my cousin Sunday and could not get it out of the darn cake pan so I'm left with a crumbly 10" yellow cake. Which actually tastes really good, but I have no clue what to do with it. I put it all into a plastic container and have it in the fridge. Can't really frost it since its in pieces. Any suggestions? Please!

I'm with Tori, fruit and whipped cream or maybe pudding. You could make a trifle also. In a large bowl put a layer of the cake then pudding and whipped cream and continue until all the cake is used or substitute fruit and whipped cream.

Sorry it took me so long to get back. Since there is only three of us here, I divided the pieces of cake and made a strawberry shortcake of sorts w/ whip cream, and the other I layered cake, choc. pudding, and whip cream. They were both yummy! Thanks for the tips again! For the cake, I used applesauce instead of oil and I wonder if that is why it feel apart.

For next time, take the cake and using your mixer, crumble the cake. Then add a can of frosting (or the equivalent to a can), and blend it all together. Refrigerate for 2 hours. After completely chilled, form small balls with the cake and frosting mixture and put on a baking sheet, and place the baking sheet in the freezer to keep them chilled. While the balls are chilling, melt some semi-sweet baking chocolate. After the chocolate is completely melted, using two forks, coat the cake balls with the chocolate. Place back in the freezer / refrigerator until hardened. If desired, add sprinkles before hardening. Voila...Cake Balls! Looks like you were supposed to crumble up that cake!! They're always a hit in my house!
