200mg Serophene(clomid) and IUI

Hi everyone,
This is my first post and Im a little nervous but I think it will do me the world of good to get my situation out there. I am happily married to a wonderful man and we have a gorgeous daughter who turns 5 in Jan. I knew we were blessed as I had only had my period 3 times in my life (I was 21 when I had her) and was over the moon when we fell pregnant. We have been trying to have baby number two since well pretty much straight away and then two years ago I was FINALLY diagnosed with PCOS which was amazing as I had been to doctor after doctor to see what was wrong with me. I have now started my 5th cycle of Serophene and Im now on 200mg and when I finally get the right sized egg/s I will be having IUI maybe this month if Im lucky if not next month.
So my questions;
Has anyone out there been on 200mg of Serophene/clomid?? Did you have any side effects?
Has anyone out there had twins on clomid/IUI?
I would love to have twins and for our family to be complete.

Hi, Alana, I have gotten pregnant twice on 200 mg of Clomid (neither time with twins, though). The only side effect really of note is that it lengthens my cycle (which I didn't realize at first, so really got my hopes up being "late" after an unsuccessful attempt). Have you had side effects?

I did 200 mg of Clomid (days 3-7) again this month and just had an IUI yesterday. I hope we are both successful soon!

Hi Alanax, I wanted to wish you the best of luck with this cycle. You might want to cross-post on TTC because it's much more active than this board. I know of many women on that board who have done clomid and/or IUI. I did 2 cycles of Clomid, but my dose was 100mg. The 2nd cycle, we added injections of Follistim. I didn't get pg either cycle, but many women on these boards have babies thanks to Clomid. In terms of side effects? On the days that I took Clomid, I had mild cramping and bloating. I also had hot flashes that increased as I got to the end of my 5 days on it (cd's 3-7). Then I felt fine until O time, when I had very pronounced O pain on both sides. HTH.
