Hello all,
We adopted our precious daughter and she is the light of our lives! She came home to us at 8 days old and we have told her from the beginning how she became part of our family. We also belong to an adoption playgroup and get together with other families who adopted thru our agency. It is great for us parents and even greater for the children to be together and know each other! Lindsay is 6 years old and the Sunshine of our lives. I had 2 miscarriages and yes, I grieved over the loss of those babies, but I love Lindsay with all my heart and soul! She is simply our daughter in every way, and it doesn't matter that she didn't grow in my tummy....I tell her she grew in Mommy's heart and from time to time we talk about her birthmother and how much she loved her and wanted a better life for her...how she was too young to parent her, etc. I am not sure how much she understands about it being 6, but it is an open thing in our house....no secrets about it! What an amazing miracle she is and how thankful we are to have her and pray for her birthmother everyday!

I just want to say how amazing all of you women and men as well are in my eyes to adopt! I'm sure she understands more than you think, but because you raised her she might not grasp everything so easily right now.
