Seems like I haven't been on SG in quite a while.
Sophia will start an early childhood special education/preschool thing in September. She still needs so much help. Her speech is starting to pick up, but she's displaying a lot more quirky behaviors. I am going to call her new teacher in the fall to see if she should be retested.
She does goofy stuff, like flips her trike upside down and then just spins the wheels. Over, and over. She still licks things that she shouldn't which grosses me out, and I don't understand why. Yucka. She shys away from children other than her siblings. She screams when we leave the room. She has to have one of us in her sight, or she screams.
I don't know. She narrowly missed surgery for her lazy eye. We went in on July 2nd all ready for surgery when the eye specialist came in to do one last check and measurement, and he said, "Oh, my......Her glasses seem to be helping. She is showing improvement over the last week since I seen her. We are going to post pone the surgery for another 2 months." Which was great news. I didn't want her to have to go under anesthesia unless absolutely necessary.
Sophia, love her to pieces. Even though she does all this goofy stuff, I see that smile she flashes and it just melts right through my heart. Wouldn't trade her for the world.
My other kids are enjoying summer break. Becca will be starting soccer the end of July and kindergarten in the fall. Hard to believe. I'm having trouble finding uniforms for her because she's only in a 3T, almost 4T. She small girl's size is a 4/5 and they come down to her knees... ;D I would have held her back one year to start kindergarten, but her preschool teacher said no way. She's ready and it would hurt her more than help her to hold her back. Its funny how much she is learning playing school with Olivia. She can write legibly, sound out words, spell them, and she can read some. Not too much yet reading, but some. She sounds out words. Loves Dr Seuss.
DH and I are going through some counseling. Very, very long story that I don't feel comfortable posting publicly, just to say that it has been extremely emotional and difficult.
Other than that, we're doing great. Come on, everyone update please. This board has been so quiet. I would love to see how everyone is doing.
Hugs and prayers for all.
Lisa
