How frustrating. Just when Sophia was trying so much harder, then she had the hospital stay and took huge steps backwards. She resorting to the fit throwing and not using any signs or words. Just screaming. Its hard.
Then while we were in the hospital. Her first IV infiltrated (sp?) and they had to take it out and then put it in again. She ended up just like Becca, couldn't get a vein in her arm on either side, so they put it in her foot. That meant, she couldn't get up and walk at all. She had to stay in bed, or be carried, or ride in the wagon.
Then they would come in and try to be friendly with her, and she just wouldn't talk to any of them. Not even try. It was like she just shut off, and now I can't figure out how to get her started again.
And, she was in the hospital on the 24th when she was supposed to see the eye specialist. I had to reschedule and they cannot work her in until April 24th!!!!!!!!!. I'm not used to that at all. Our ped works us in within a few days at most. Usually, they see her same day. So the 24th seems like it is just so far off. I wonder if her eye will get worse with that long of a delay. I really don't know.
I guess I'm rambling. It was a long week. Time for me to settle down, figure out a plan for her, and then hopefully she will be able to get back what she has lost.
Thanks for listening.

(((((hugs)))))) Lisa. I just wanted to let you know that when Caleb was in the hospital almost 4 years ago now (hard to believe that!) that he did the same thing. It took awhile after we got home to get him back to doing things he was doing before. Regression in any person in the hospital is common and normal, it is just so much more pronounced and worrisome when it's our little ones that work so hard anyway. I hope things get on a smoother path for you soon. I have never had two kids in the hospital at once much less with a new one at home, too...I truly feel for you!! I will continue to pray for you.
