I do not know if I should be worried or not I have not gained a pound, I weigh the same as I did pre pg. My Dr says it is from the metformin and he wants to adjust the amount tomorrow at my appt. I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem? I guess I just need something to worry about lol ( as if I don't have enough on my mind I want to add more).

Not I sorry..
however.. I'm 13.3 weeks and I've gained enough weight for us both
7 lbs.
all in the tummy.
My sister in law never gained a pound until she was almost 5 months pregnant.. if she had morning sickness or something I could understand it... she had nothing.
Wishing you all the best...

It could be possible that its not really the medicine. I didn gain ANY weight until about 20 weeks, and then it was only 4 lbs. My doctor just said she thinks I will catch up. good luck! Kim

I am on 2000 mg of Metformin / day. I lost 11 pounds in the first trimester and have only gained back 6 pounds. I am still 5 pounds under my pre pg weight. I have type II diabetes. None of my doctors are worried about my weight, as long as I either maintain or gain a pound or 2 between appointments. I have spoken with my dietician and my nurse educator we are revamping my diet to keep my sugars in check, I am trying to avoid insulin. Talk to your doctor about meeting with a dietician and / or a nurse educator, mine have been a world of help.
Good Luck,
Kristin
