I have been having some REALLY difficult issues with her. She wont listen and it takes 4 times and then me raising my voice to get her to do ANYTHING i ask. She takes 2-3 hrs to do her homework and THEN loses it . Yesterday we went to the psychiatrist agian and she prescribed alittle boost to her with her concentration and her listening. Then last night she SHAVES her eyebrows off!!!! Sometimes its VERY hard to deal with her behaviors and she is teaching my little one "bad" behaviors. I tell her all the time she is the "role model" and that Angelina learns everything she does. So she is TRYING to be better but she does some really dumb things around and Ang and then i catch Ang doing the same things (which CAN be dangerous). I love her to death but she sure does push my buttons. When she comes home from school its homework and then she can play for a while before bed, then we eat and brush teeth, shower and bed!!!! It takes her at least 30min-1 hr to do one task IF not longer. So i am hoping this can help her alittle bit!

Izaac used to be very similar. I would get very frustrated with him because he just took forever. Once he was properly treated for his ADHD and sensory processing disorder and we established firm rules, routines, and consequences, we stopped having any issues.

Maria
I cannot say it enough, so I will say it again.
With you and her dad having bipolar I am not 100% positive your little girl only has adhd, if she has that at all.
Putting her on a brand new medication so soon after adding the other medication is just poor medical practice.
If a child is adhd, 1 medication will work, most on adhd medications need 1 not 3.
If she is struggling with concentration, lack of follow through etc. the behaviors could very well be caused by the medication.
Sereqol is contraindicated in a child with bipolar and or anxiety disorder.
Once you get the letter in the mail and get the testing started for an IEP you will see what is going on.
In the meantime ask for a functional behavior assessment to help with at school and watch her like a hawk at home.
A child with a mood disorder needs a mood stabilizier, the oldest and best for small children is lithium.
If you don't make lithium in your body and many children with anxiety and bipolar do not, they cannot ever concentrate.
Your dr. can check both her thyroid and lithium levels, you don't need the psych to refer for that. Low levels of either one can cause the concentration lags.
You also might want to call the school and tell them until the meds. are stabilized you cannot have her bringing homework home because of the issues it causes.

I am almost positive its GOING to reviel bi-polar sooner or later BUT they wont even diagnose it or THINK about it till she is 12, i guess that is the practice HERE! She has been on Strattera for god a year and then Seroquil for about 4 months. The FIRST time i tried it she had a VERY bad time of it and i stopped and gave it to her about a month later and it worked!!!
She gets it at NIGHT only for bedtime and it supposidly stays in her body and WILL help with the moods or so i have been told. I am going to have her assesed furthure DEFINITLEY this year, i am NOT playing games!!!! I am NOT allowing them to tell me no they wont do it. My kid has suffered ENOUGH with these schools and MEAN teachers that DONT understand her. Its just REALLY hard!

sorry had to rush last night with the response.
The patch they put her on was WONDERFUL last night it took 30mins to do ALL her homework!!! Then she stayed in her room to clean and just relax all night. She told me she is very happy with it and made her listen all day in school.
I dont believe in medicating a child, but i feel SO sorry for her and it was to the point where she was getting hurt and wasnt able to do anything without frustration so for Her OWN good we put her on some meds.
But the sedroquil is suppose to work for the moods. that is a mood stabalizer and we go back in 4 weeks and i am going to ask about litium MAYBE that will help her, i just dont want her to be "zombied" out. I dont want her to the point where she isnt soemwhat active and a child and i FEAR that sometimes parent s medicate to the point where the kids have to be perfect and not a kid and i refuse to do that to her.
But i am going to check with the dr next time.
