"Baby Step" number one

My first RE appt. will be March 1. This will be a working visit, w/ lab work and a mock egg tranfer and IVF education session w/ the nurse. I've been told I can begin treatment the following cycle.

What is a mock egg transfer? I have a consult with new RE/new insurance/new state on Monday. We seem to have very good coverage (90% on meds and procedure with a lifetime max of $3,500 after deductible is met) so I hope we can move forward soon as well. I actually wouldn't be too bummed if we can't start for a month or 2. I would rather not have a baby in Jan/Feb in the mid west cuz it's COLD!!! (I miss California but we couldn't afford this there and DH got a better job with better ins).

I'm glad to hear you've gotten that first appointment. There's so much waiting involved in all this stuff... I think that's the worst part for me. Just the waiting.

Carolyn- A mock egg transfer is where they practice transfering the embryo into your uterus. It is to test to make sure sure you are biologically fit. I've been told tranfer is similar to IUI. Looks like we will be going thru this pretty close together. Good luck. You do have awesome ins coveraage. Mine covers diagnosis and drugs only if they are not used in conjunction w/ ART

I had my consult today, starting BCP with next AF which should be around 3/2 or so. RE said we'd to a "uterine mapping" then. Taking the IVF class (whatever that means, LOL - does internet research count? 3/20 and then will be cycling in April. Ho boy!!!!!
