Not only do I have the pleasure of PCOS and the high insulin levels that cause or are caused by it requiring Metformin to even have cycles and ovulate.
I usually have to have clomid to get really really good ovulation.
I have the stupid Factor V Leiden blood clotting bs to go along with it.
One second trimester loss, 3 early losses (that I know of apparently).
Anyone have this same stuff?
Infertility should be my middle name!

I also have PCOS. I cannot take Metformin, my body does not absorb it. I am taking Fortamet and Actos. The Actos seems to be what really works for me. I was on Fortamet for several months and when they added the Actos I started ovulating. I also have Von Willebrands Disease which is a clotting disorder. My blood takes longer than normal to clot. I had a miscarriage in December. My doctor had mentioned maybe putting me on Clomid in April and I was wondering what that would help with? I do ovulate with the Fortamet/Actos. We are ready to TTC again and I want to make sure I have researched everything for both PCOS and Von Willebrands. Any thoughts?

The one dr. told me that Clomid would help my body make better eggs. Apparently we can still make eggs after ovulating on medication BUT clomid will make the ovulation stronger and help out the eggs. It wouldn't hurt, but this time I didn't use clomid and still got pregnant. Now I'm just eagerly awaiting my blood test so they can put me on the blood thinners!
