I used to come here to SG a lot but it's been a long time. I've been reading posts here for several days and hardly recognize any names. I haven't slept in weeks and would really like to communicate with some women who understand.
I had multiple pregnancy losses (m/c & ecp). Eventually my dh and I divorced too. I'm single now and going to do ivf using anonymous donor sperm. Is there any one else here who's using a donor? Anyone else who is single and ttc?

Wishing you luck sweetie. I am about to do IVF as well, after several failed IUIs.
I'm not using donor anything, but I'll be here to support you all the same. ;D

Thanks, wloublue!
I started injections today. A friend - who happens to be a nurse - is giving them to me, bless her heart. She's dieting (in a general sort of way -- not Jenny Craig or anything like that) right now so I think I'll get her some gift certificates for salads from local restaurants as a way of saying thanks for doing the shots. In a strange coincidence, she got called in to work tonight so I got my first injection in a labor & delivery room at the hospital. I hope that's a sign. ;D
My gyn will be monitoring things since my RE is a 3 hour drive from here. At my last appt with him (the gyn) we were discussing the increased possibility of multiples and he said, "Fifty percent of triplets don't make it past 20 weeks." That single phrase has been responsible for a lot of my lack of sleep. I think my biggest fear right now is not that the ivf won't work, it's that it could work too well and then I would be facing some impossibly tough decisions.

I think I'll worry about that when I see how many viable embies we get, LOL. How many will your RE transfer? I actually went with a clinic that will only transfer 2 or 3, rather than one that is more aggressive w/ stims and transfers 4 or 5 to reduce that likelihood.

My RE and I haven't yet discussed how many embryos to transfer. From the packet of info I received from her office, it sounds like we'll discuss that after the quality of embryos has been determined. (Which makes sense to me.)
I do know from other people who've done ivf with this RE that she is "very aggressive" and has a tendency to push people to transfer a high number of embryos.
Prior to my ob/gyn's statement, I guess I thought that most triplets did just fine. And thus, I also felt okay about transferring three embryos. I would not have guessed that only half make it past 20 weeks. I'm going to research that number. Perhaps he's incorrect.
Have you done injections before? My friend who is giving me the shots this time sort of massaged my hip right after the shot. (She called it "pushing the med down into the muscle.") What a difference that made! The last time I did injections (a nurse at my PCP's office administered them), I was in agony! The little massage afterward really helped.

The only injections I've done before is the O trigger. Sounds like a neat trick. My dh is pretty good at it, but I'm still not looking forward to that aspect.
