Hi all, This is my first time on this message board, and I do not know teh abbreviations yet (Sorry). My mom suggested joining a support group so and I found this one online.
We are trying to conceive and have been since our wedding on 10/2/2004. I have had 1 natural miscarriage (~6wks) and 1 with the IUI (Clomid & Metformin), which happened 1 week ago today. I had to have a D & C, an it was very difficult (emotionally and physically). The doctor did not see the heartbeat on ultrasound by 9 weeks and at week 10 they did the D & C. We are not fully over the loss yet but getting there.
I do not have PCOS, but I have a Fibriod, although it sits on top of the uterus and has not impacted the uterus in any way, except make me have to go #1 more often and causes painful periods.
I was wondering if anyone had success stories with IUIs, specifically after a miscarriage. We have not gotten the pathology back yet on the embryo and are not really expecting to find out an answer as to why this happened. But could use some encouragement from others.
It is interesting how many people have been though miscarriages, but no one talks about it, until they come across someone who is going though it.
Everyone just tells me to relax, which I think I am and I know my hubby is. I always thought that was a funny thing to say. And really kind of gets on my nerves. Anyway, please offer advice on Subsequent IUIs after a miscarriage, my doctor is going to want to do round 2 of the IUI as soon as my next cycle begins, as early as 3 weeks from now. After my first miscarriage, we did not try for a full cycle, and then midway though the next cycle (after taking Clomid) I had a "chemical pregnancy" or possible a miscarriage (they cannot determine). I am very worried that we'll have to go through another chemical pregnancy, while going through the IUI#2 and while the miscarriage loss is so fresh.
Thanks for reading,
Kristi
