Well every doctor we spoke to had a totally different % for reversal success rate, some were very low and some said 99% Has anyone here had a successful vasectomy reversal? How long did it take before pregnancy or sperm returned? Some said 4 days and some said a few months.
I know everything is good to go on my end and we are wondering what to expect from others point of views that have been through it.

My dh is scheduled for a reversal. It is my understanding that the success depends on how long it has been since the reversal and the expertise of the doctor performing the reversal. Has you dh had the reversal yet? If not, look around and choose a doctor who does this on a regular basis. Your success rate will be much better that way.

Its only been 3 years since it was done, so I guess the success rate is fairly good. We made a rash decision, partly due to postpartum depression on my behalf and our situation was so different then. We knew we wanted more before our sons death, but this gives us the push to get it done. We are going for our consultation tomorrow so hopefully everything will go well. It took us a month just to get in for a consult so who knows how long it will take to schedule the surgery. I hope it can be done before summer is over, I hope not to be majorly pregnant during the dead of next summer, we have a farm, so much work to do in the summer and no AC :-(
Its a clinic that specializes in reversals with the latest technology and doctors with tons of experience so hopefully all will go well and this will be in the cards for us.
I hope yours goes good as well! Stephanie

It's been about 2 1/2 years since my dh's vasectomy. He had it done against my wishes. It took about 4 months for us to get an appointment. Do you get pregnant easily? I have a history of infertility and I'm 37, so there's no guarantees for us. Please do keep in touch. Heidi

Yes I got pregnant very easily both times, I was on norplant for almost 5 years and when it was time to take it out we were ready to get pregnant and I was pregnant that very first ovulation RIGHT after it was taken out. I am 25 so I am ok with fertility issues, I have pretty tough pregnancies but nothing that hurts the baby and that I cant handle just pretty severe back pain. We want to have several more kids so I need to get started asap :-) Stephanie

I have no experience in this deparment as my husband and I aren't even considering any form of sterilization at this point! But my husband's sister has some experience in this department. Actually her husband does. About 12 yrs ago they had their first child and then about 18 months later they had their second child and he shortly after had a vesectomy. Well about 4-5 yrs ago they decided that they wanted more children and he got his vasectomy reversed and within a few months she was expecting. They had a beautiful little boy in December 2002. Then about a year later she got pregnant again. She had a little girl and then in January of this year she had a miscarriage and guess what she is expecting again in December.............so I think that their reversal was a success and I have heard that he had a quack doctor too!!!
