Hi,
This is for a friend of mine who has been TTC for 2+ years and is finally getting fertility treatment.
I wont go into too many details but isnt provera used to start your period??
She has had every test imaginable and all the fertility specialist told her was that basicly her hormones are wacky. She just had a saline sonogram and the doc told her she is about to get a heavy normal period. She was to take the provera for 10 days, and she told her that she would probably get her perid with in a couple of days of starting it. BUT she just finished day 10 and STILL NO PERIOD AT ALL.
What could this mean? Do any of you have experience with this??
Thanks! Kim

Hi,
I've taken provera several times to start my period. Pfizer (the people who make the name-brand provera) states that a woman's period will usually show up withint 3-7 days after finishing the provera (i.e. 3-7 days after the LAST pill)....however, I have known of women that have taken up to 2 weeks for their periods to arrive.

I've had to take it in the past (pre-Metformin days lol). It can take up to 10 days after stopping it, for AF to show.

I agree. It shows after you stop taking it. It showed up the very next day for me.
