Unfortunately AF showed 2 days early. I went to the RE last Wednesday with the intent to say, "Put a period (no pun intended, LOLOLOL) and we're moving on."
Well, I think we had to get past his ego in order to get somewhere. (No, you can't just drug someone up enough to make them pg.)
My u/s showed I o'd, as did the u/s after the failed December cycle. I told him I was done and I was there to check for cysts, to perhaps get an answer as to why the cycle failed, not to get another $500 worth of meds in the butt. I've never cried before, I guess that worked. We talked about my history again (that it took 18 months of "not preventing" to conceive Daniel) and then he asked me how I made it to 35 without ever being pg.
After I picked myself up off the floor at that insinuation (well, I was married for 3 years to someone else age 27-29 and had a couple of LTRs and was VERY careless with BC because I'd been told I'd never get pg due to my family history of endo - ignorant "old school" Dr was full of misinformation for my mom and I), I reiterated how I'd never been pg. He's beginning to think there's something structural going on, from either a) endo (never been dx'd, 100% family history back to greatgrandma had it), b) the Pelvic Inflammatory Disease I had @ 23 (bladder infection went untreated - was poor college student - and spread to reproductive organs. Can cause IF) or c) scarring/infection from carrying around a 1.5 lb infected fetus (cause of death was several kinds of infection - ICKY!!!)
He had his "wing man" (his nurse) email me why he DOESN'T do CD21 progesterone draws to check for O a couple months ago. This infuriated me no end. Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, I'm now on the waiting list for a laparoscopy to check for structural problems/damage. Until that time, we're back to OPKs and the "pink torpedo" (2-3 months) and A CD21 BLOOD DRAW!!!!! If I CAN O on my own (with a progesterone >10), then do I really need drugs? I DO NOT have PCOS. Furthermore, why the f*** did he and the OB (while on CLomid or before even starting me on it?) refuse to do these? Why did he suddenly change his tune about them NOW?
I am very happy to finally be getting what I wanted from the OB last August. Maybe I never needed to be referred to the RE.
