I posted this on TTC and thought I might as well post it here too if you dont mind. . .
My best friend has been TTC for over 2 years now. She has a 6 year old that was not planned and never even gave TTC much thought until all of a sudden she could not get pg when she wanted to. She has been going thru an array of fertility tests and so far they have turned up NOTHING. Well, yesterday she had an HSG done ( I think thats what its called?) Where they put dye in your uterus and take x-ray pictures so they can see the uterus and falopian tubes to see if anything is blocked. Well, from what they could tell all looked normal. Except at one point they could not see the entire uterus when they "should" have been able to. Does that make sense? Like by the time they put a certian amount of dye in her, they should have been able to see the whole uterus, but they couldnt until later. And they said something about maybe an air bubble being trapped in there?? Have any of you heard of this? Because of this they are having her do a saline sonogram. . .I dont really know what that is either but supposedly it should tell them more.
Also she said that this dye procedure was REALLY painful, is is supposed to be?? She is still in pain because of it today too.
Well, thats all. If any of you have had any experience with this stuff, her and I would like to hear about it!!
Thanks Kim

Hi,
I don't normally post am more of a reader than a writer but the post caught my eye!!! I have had HSG- and it also was terrifying and painful and whats worse I think they do not tell you a lot. The doctors reports I said to blocked fallopian tubes and couldn't fall pregnant. I fell with triplets that month- and my OB said that the reoprt was completely innaccurate as I had already had a child!!! I had pain for 3-5 days afterwards and that is quite common. Just thought I would share!!

I also had some cramping after I had an HSG done. I think that's pretty normal. Has she perhaps been tested for an incorneat (heart shaped) uterus? That can be difficult to diagnose. Please do let us know how your friend is doing.
