Hi girls! As I am sitting here wondering if I will ever ovulate this month I am thinking about other possibilities!! Will I ever get pregnant? Is Clomid really the right drug for me? A million questions and zero answers! Well one of the things that has come to mind is this: I have read some of your posts or replies and noticed that some of you have had IUI and injectiables! Ok what exactly are you talking about there!? I know what IUI is-or what they do sorta! But I could really use a little bit more information-if you have any! Like what is the success rate? Does it hurt? What does something like run-cost wise? Can and OB/GYN do this? And what injectiables are you all talking about?? Thanks girls I really appreciate it! I am really thinking about going through something invasive other then these drugs! I do know that I am going to bring up at my next appointment with the doctor on the 7th a diagnosis and reasoning behind using clomid. I don't have the symptoms of PCOS so I do not believe I suffer from that! Any other suggestions!?!? Again thank you!!

Hi April!! My name is Audra & I am on the TTC board when I get a chance to get online!! ;D I hope that I can help with a few answers to your questions. I don't have any answers in regards to injectables, sorry about that. But, I did take Clomid for 6 cycles & we also had 4 IUI's in that same time period. We were diagnosed with "Unexplained Secondary Infertility", nice name, huh?!? ;D I was also diagnosed with PCOS, which I know you don't have, but just for info. Although none of my IUI's (which means Intra-uterine insemination...I think) were successful, I did work with a lady that successfully conceived on her 4th IUI. I can tell what the process consisted of in Wisconsin...I'm not sure if it's different across state lines or if it depends on the doc?? My OB/GYN did the procedure in her office, okay let's see if I can remember all of the details!! I took Clomid on days 5 through 9 & starting POAS with an OPK kit on day 10 until I got a positive, which was very hard the first couple of cycles....I was never 100% certain that the line was darker, etc...confusing & overwhelming at first. THEN, when we did get a positive OPK I would call the OB & schedule the IUI for the following morning. My hubby would go into the office an hour or so before me, he would do his "thing" & then they would wash the sperm. Then it was my turn....I would go in & they always handed me this tube of pink stuff, which was dh's sperm!!, & then the OB or her assistant would come in & lie me down, hips propped up & then they would literally extract the sperm & place it up into my uterus, right where it needed to be to try to help those little swimmers find the egg!! Then I would usually go home & rest for the remainder of the day, off my feet, etc....and let the 2ww begin! We went through that process 4 cycles in a row & I wish I could remember the cost, but my insurance company covered those procedures in full...I know, I was very lucky!! They covered infertility treatments, except for IVF, up to $2500 so I know that with all 4 it was less than that since we didn't pay anything out of pocket. Have you had an HSG to check for blockage in your tubes? That is another procedure that I had done twice....we were ttc for #2 for 6 years, so I did have a couple of procedures repeated because of the time that had passed. Or an ultrasound of your ovaries? Just to see if you have follicles or even an u/s of your uterus to check your lining? I'm just trying to think of the # of different tests & such that you may ask your doctor or if you've already had them done, maybe see if they can explain more in detail what they saw or didn't see?? I wish I could be more help, please feel free to PM me or even post more here...I'm very interested in learning more & hearing what your doctor has to say. And also know that I will be keeping you & your husband in my prayers....unexplained infertility is so hard, especially when you feel like no one else could possibly understand what you are going through. I would be more than happy to "listen". We went through this for 6 years & after being told that IVF was our ONLY solution, we started looking into adoption, got rid of any baby stuff that we had saved & really started enjoying life again.....guess what?!?! We were so blessed, I couldn't believe it.....after 6 years we were FINALLY pregnant, shocked & definitely pregnant!! We have a very sassy 2 year old running around here as proof that miracles do happen & it could happen for you, too!! Anyway, I know I've been rambling on here, just wanted you to know that you are not alone & if you need a shoulder to cry on or just an ear for listening, I'm here!! (((BIG HUGS))) Audra

Audra explained things greatly. Everybody's situation is different. My insurance covers all my meds . I will be on injectables ( lupron and Gonal F) after many ( too many cycles) of clomid. I will start the injectables at the begining of January and will need lots of support!
My daughter is a clomid baby though. A very happy healthy, just shy of 3 years old. ;D
I have not had a procedure done yet, so it was informative for me to read this too- thanks Audra.
