Hi ladies,
Well I'm a little nervous and excited if that makes any sense. I have my first specialist appt on Monday morning and I'm just curious as to what you think I should expect.
A little history about me......got pg 1st month TTC#1, to sadly end in m/c at 10.5 weeks (that's when I found SG in 2002!!) Then, my now 2 yr old DS was concieved on our 4th cycle of TTC........no problems...right??
This is C#14 of ACTIVELY TTC#2 (charting, OPK's, sex like rabbits---the whole nine yards) and nadda yet!!
When I go for my appt on Monday, I'll probably have just o'd or just about to ......
All that my regular doc checked for me was a blood test to check thyroid=fine and in July I had my Progesterone checked, it also was fine at 24.5.
I had an emerg c-section with my DS and I've read alot of stuff about possible scarring of the uterus and that scar tissue going and blocking the tubes on the net, my dr also made a point of writing that down on my referral (that I had a c-section first time around).....is this an HSG they'd do to look at this? When at your cycle do they normally perform this test?
What should I expect? Any questions you think I should ask when I'm there??
Thanks so much for all your help and your SUPPORT!

The initial tests my doctor ran were bloodwork on cd3 to test various hormones (I can't remember it all... testosterone, fsh, estradiol, etc.) and then he had me use opk's to monitor whether I waso ovulationg and did a progesterone test about cd21 (they like to do about a week after o). I also did an hsg... that is typically done after af is gone and before you o. I didn't find it a big deal or painful or anything, but I know some women do. And, yes, an hsg is used to detect any blockages in your tubes... basically they inject a dye and see if it spills over through your tubes into your uterus... if it doesn't there is a blockage somewhere. The good news is that I have heard that sometimes if there is a small blockage that having an hsg can take care of that. Good luck with your dr appointment, let us know how it goes! It is scary to take the step to do testing, but it was helpful for me too because I felt like I was taking some action to see what was going on. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~ Melody

Hi Monica, Melody already answered your question in great detail!! I hope you feel much better after seeing the specialist. I agree, I also felt much better after seeking a RE knowing I was doing something about it. My situation was alittle different though. I can be SO impatient at times. Right after my e/p and first normal cycle...I didn't want to keep ttc, I just knew something was wrong. It's safe to say my intuition hasn't failed me yet. it turns out my right tube is blocked and now our alternative is IVF. I hope your okay but if there happens to be a problem I hope it's something that can be fixed so you can have your sticky bean
