hi my name is Rebekah this is my painful story, I fell pregnant with my beautiful daughter in early 2004 my husband and i had only been trying for a short period of time and were so excited i knew i was pregnant at only 3 weeks and at that point knew that something was wrong i went to the dr he only did hcg test and that was fine the hcg was continuing to go up i started spotting they repeated the test andd still it continued to go up, i was told this is normal and i was having first time fears. I bleed again very badly at 8 weeks and was sent to hospital where they performed an ultrasound confirming the pregnancy was there but there were some clots present at that point i saw quite a few dr's but as the pregnancy continued they didnt worry, again at 12 weeks i was in hospital they then saw a pattern and told me that i was simply getting a period each month and the baby was still there and growing. I saw many more dr's and eventually i was started on injections and diagnosed with lupus and was seeing only 4 dr's.
Then at 22 weeks i lost my plug i had one pain, i called my mum not knowing what it was she told me it sounded like a mucous plug and to go to delivery, which i did, on examination i had bulging forewaters and the baby was a footling breech, i had started labour. The dr's worked hard and held it off for a week and at 23 weeks they could hold it no longer my body was finally giving out my kidneys were starting to fail my liver was'nt doing well and the placenta was on its last legs the baby was coming out, i had to go through a natural labour, it was so hard i cried through the whole thing not knowing the outcome my baby died while i gave birth to her. We called her Isabella Clare she was so tiny so beautiful.
My family helped us get through the funeral but only weeks after on my 6 week check up did we get hit hard again the lupus that took my baby girl was now starting to flare and they wanted to start me on a long term medication if we wanted another baby they could help this flare and i had to fall pregnant in 4 months or i would not have a chance on long term meds for 5 year with a huge reduction in chances, so we fell pregnant again i had injections every day was in hospital more often than not and was on huge doses of medication, but for us a miracle happened this baby the dr's had told us i would only carry to 28 on bed rest stayed longer and he grew, we were told he would be premmie and so tiny and spend a few months in NICU they were wrong! he stayed until 37 weeks and was born at 3.3kg! he was big and only spent 4 days in the neonatl intensive care unit i now have a 3 month old baby boy who amazes me everyday in ways i had never thought possible i love hearing his noises watching himstart to grab at things and grow and smile, i wouldnt give him up for the world but at the same time i am saddened by the facts i never saw my little girl smile or laugh and my husbands family wont talk about her as we have the new baby i miss my little girl like crazy and am so in love with this little boy it seems so strange and hard
