Why is it that tv producers or exec's and I suppose it's society as a whole can call loosing a child at 7 mos a miscarriage?? Do they think it scares people to think that there are stillbirths in this country on our planet, EACH AND EVERY DAY!!!!!!! I just don't get it! Yes I know, technically I didn't have a stillbirth. But I relate so I have the right to be infuriated!! I have it in mind to write the network about this. I know it's only a 'word', and people that have gone through it KNOW that it is much, much more. And I don't mean to anger or hurt those that have had one or more miscarriages... (I believe they are children too) but somehow when they talk about a child that's life has been cut short so close to coming into this world... and dismissing it so casually... well it just seems heartless to me. You would think that if they were gonna to all the trouble of looking up and using MEDICAL DISORDERS... they would have all the right terms, right?? Okay, tell me if I'm WAY off base here... or if my point is valid... right now I'm home alone and just watched this and I'm TICKED OFF!!!!!!!! sorry for the rant, MarieAnne Elizabeth ~18 August 2004~ Born 5:20 am Died 6:40 am Born at 20weeks 5 days Born too early, gone to fast, But our love is strong, And our memories will last.

I agree with you. I didn't watch Law & Order tonight but normally I tune in quite a bit. I find it ironic that a show that bases itself off *ripping right from the headlines* would be so stupid.

I feel the same as you do. I lost my little ashley at four and half months and they some have called her just a miscarriage but you dont hold a miscarriage. I held my baby. the papers say spontaneus abortion (fetal loss). I still dont like those words. I have pictures of my baby and I held her. I cant stand the way others look at things. A legal term miscarriage is between conception and 12 weeks. I feel for this frustration you carry

I don't even think I got to the point in the show where they called it a 'miscarriage'.We also lost Max at 7 months so my dh was quick to change the channel.I think it was more for his sake than mine....... I just could so, I'm not sure if 'understand' is the right word but I certainly could feel for the woman.I remember after we lost Max my dh's niece gave birth to a baby boy on Max's edd.He was born also at 28 weeks and due to a placental abruption....but he made it.I remember just fighting the urge to go and say,'just let us have him!' (it is her 3rd as well-and she is not the best mother in the world, like she never even saw a dr untill he was born because she-and I quote- 'certainly didn't want or need another RUG RAT running around!' ) I just remember feeling so cheated and pissed about the whole thing.I can so relate to wanting to take the baby...but I certainly never could have hurt anyone! BTW dh's niece's baby is a fine healthy beautiful baby now.But boy does he 'hurt my feelings' everytime I see him at family stuff! Love and peace, xoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox
