Hi all, I have not been here for so long, that I had to re-register. I wanted to forget, but that was impossible, I became even more depressed, people have been telling me that it will get easier, but it hasn't. It seems that everyone is forgetting that my darling angel Cara even existed. Because I had to carry Cara for 3 weeks after she died and she deteriorated, I am unable to display her photo, as it would scare some people, including my children. So I was wondering if anyone new how to improve her appearance enough so that I could have a photo of her to show others that yes she was real and did exist.
Sue.

Sue, Unfortunately, I don't know how to do this. I knew a girl on the boards once that could, but I don't think she is around anymore. A suggestion I have, would be to maybe try changing them to black and white. This sometimes helps. I did this on a few of my daughters pictures where she looked a little rough. I am lucky, I have a lot of pictures, and the nurse took a lot of time trying to take pictures that flattered her. I feel so bad that there are so many of you who don't have any, or are unable to share. Another suggestion, there is a lady that does sketches, and she is very good. I have seen a lot of her work. Go to www.portraitsbydana.com she is a great artist. I am sure you have a beautiful daughter, regardless of what the pictures show.

Sue, I am so sorry to hear that grief has blindsided you.*sigh*It always happens right when I'm thinking that I am 'dealing'.I hope the wave subsides soon. I searched and found a few retouching services for you.I redid Max's in Black and white also and it helped me to do something for my boy.You can check out his website if you would like to see.You could try one of the photoshop programs if you aren't comfortable with showing anyone the before pics.these site are run by other 'members of our sad club' so they really understand.I hope one helps. www.babyphotoretouch.com/www.hollywoodfotofix.com/photorestorationnews06.php www.touchingangels.com/who.htm The first two are free but there is a charge for the last one. Please remember that although it may be hard for others to look at the pics, our babies are beautiful.....and real. Love and peace, xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Sue, What a great idea..when I found out that Quinn had died in utero, they said that she has been gone for about a week. Needless to say, she deteriorated quite a bit as well. I too, wish that I could put some of her pics in frames or even in her scrapbook, but I, like yourself don't want to scare anybody off or want to explain why she looks like that. It was mainly her face that took the brunt of it all.. everything was "muddled". In fact, it took me a bit to get the image out of my head, but now that I look back, I see just how delicate and beautiful she is. I need to go back to the hospital to get the rest of her pic's back...when we were given the option to take her pic's we decided to not take the one's with her face, we were in so much shock. But now, that I am able to put it into my head just how "perfect" she is..I want to go get them. It's not that I am embabrassed of her, but I don't want people thinking badly of her appearance. Wow, I am really running off topic here..let me know if any of the recommended sites are good. Please and thanks! Sorry for rambling, Cass

Sue. I am so so sorry to hear about your precious Cara, I just wanted to say that I would happily try to re-touch her photo for you (no charge) if you want. The photos that were taken of my Thomas were taken quite some time after he was born and I have tried to retouch them. They certainly look better than they did.......I wouldn't be able to promise a definite result as although I often retouch photos I have never done this before for anyone else but would be very happy to try for you. If you want me to give it a go then please email me a high resoloution photo of her and I will gladly try! Let me know what you think!
Love
Vicky xXx

Dearest Vicky,
Thank you for your kindest offer, I would happily send you a photo of my cara, I must remind you that it was 3 weeks after she died that she was born, and her skull collapsed at birth. If you would like I can send you photos of my other children when they were born for referance, as they looked alike, it might help.
Your email is not shown, you can email me at susan_day1@optusnet.com.au
If you are still able to help
Love Sue.
