Hi there,
My preg in August resulted in emergency C-section due to cord prolapse, I was furious bcuz it was unplanned, I fact did not believe the doctor, did anyone else feel this way? I thought for sure I would only deliver vaginally. I actually went into a depression. I know you can have like 2 c-sections, can u have more than that??

I think my doc will allow 4. And my sister that lives in Mo. says her doctor will allow her 4. Unless of course you get pregnant again, then what can they do??? I think it puts alot of strain on the incision site after 4, they do cut you in the same place every time I think.

I was unaware you had a limit.
My Dr. did say something to me once, because my second son was a c-section, she said "we prefer to deliver our babies vaginally." I wasn't about to argue with that. I'd go vaginal ANYDAY vs 6wks of complete pain. They broke my water 13 hours before he was born. After 13 hours of hard labor, to be honest, if I had I knife, I would have cut him out myself, lol. I didn't know babies could get "stuck."
A person can only take so much pain, yanno? So, I guess I won't say no if a c-section is required again.

My second child was also an emergency section due to a prolapsed cord. They cut me vertically on the outside, but horizontally on the inside, so if I wanted a vaginal my next delivery i could try for a v-bac. When it came time for the next delivery, guess what? I was scared of another pro-cord so I opted for a planned section. She was also a floater. By the way, I enjoyed the planned section. HOpe that helps.

I had two emergency c-sections. I have never heard of their being a limit, but I know that they don't recommend having more than 3-4 due to stress on the cord. Most Dr's will happily let you V-bac unless there were complications... Hope this helps.

I've never heard of a limit either. I have friends who have had 4 c-sections. I only know one person with more then 4 kids and I don't think hers were c-sections. But I agree with Joy, I've never heard of a limit.
