Hi Clara ... I know I've been hiding myself for several months now. It's been so busy here with the family, business, and now nursing school. This spring is my last semester of prereq courses. I was just accepted to the private nursing school in our area to begin classes in the fall (with a 2-week pre-session in May). I am so excited, but so busy!
It's awesome to see your dream of an SG retreat coming about! I don't know if I will be able to make it, considering my school schedule. But, I will sure be praying for all the participants and planners .... so will be there in spirit if not in body.
I wanted to suggest that SG offer an opportunity to support others in attending the retreat ... both financially and prayerfully. I've seen this with other retreats, and it can be such a blessing. Many persons who can not attend for schedule reasons or distance, may be able to make a donation to allow someone else to attend whose only barrier is finances. Also, through retreat prayer partners, each participant would know that as they attend the retreat, someone very specific at "home" is lifting them up in prayer for safe travel and emotional and physical health. Just a couple of suggestions ... and perhaps you've already thought of them!
I think about you, all the SG members, and this ministry often and pray God's hand will continue to bless and guide all of you.
Hugs,
Becca

Clara, I do not think I will be able to attend the retreat but I do love Becca's idea... if nothing else, I would love to be an "at home" support to someone who is attending the retreat to pray they are blessed by it, especially those here who are so new to the grief of child loss.

Dear Special Friends,
I honestly did not think of this, but I think it's a WONDERFUL idea. When my kids were young, I could never afford for them to attend Christian Camp, but there were caring people who made it possible through "Campships". Partly because of those friendships made at Christian Camp, my children have all attended a Christian College for their education.
I will meet with Jimmy and Natalie and see how we can set this up. At the time of registration, I will have something online so that donations can be made to help defray the costs for those who might not be able to attend due to financial constraints. I personally know the meaning of such gifts. Perhaps we can set up a Retreat Sponsorship.
Thank you for such a wonderful suggestion!
Much love, Clara

Monica, I'm working right now on the registration form for the retreat that will be held October 10 - 12, 2008. The retreat is going to be awesome! I get so excited just thinking about it! In about one week, I will be giving out all information and the registration form will be live on my other site: www.clarahinton.com . I will be posting the information in the Newsroom of the SG site, on my www.clarahinton.com site, on my myspace site, facebook (yes, I do all of those things!), as well as on the message boards. I sure hope you'll be able to come! Much love, Clara
