Dearest Clara, First of all, thank you so much for Silent Grief! It has been such a blessing to me. I also have a question. I was chatting on MSN with another member who asked me a question about some clothes she was listing on e-bay. She wasn't soliciting my business, but I really was interested in what she was selling. I know that there are quite a few girls on here that sell their used kids clothes on e-bay, and there are also a lot of girls that buy a lot of their kids clothes on e-bay (like me!). I was wondering if it would be okay with you if people that were listing things posted a link on the Potporri or MAL board. I was thinking something like one "stickie" thread that could just be added to. I'd like to be buying from people I "know" when they are selling things I could use. Thanks for all of the time and effort you put into SG. Jill

It was me asking Jill's opinon... I have often wished that somehow we could have a post at least letting us know who our SG sisters were that are selling on ebay. Maybe not individual links to specific auctions or buy it now's...But maybe a stickie on potpouri, that we could add our seller name, and items that we sell.... This would give us an opportunity to support our SG sisters/brothers...However, doesn't become an advertising mechanism for EBAY, or bring SG into the middle of a conflict regarding a specific auction... Just a thought.. Love donna

Hi, Jill and Donna, Let me think a day or two about how to do this so that I don't get others upset. It is my policy not to allow SG to become a place where members advertise and sell products. However, I think it's a great idea when you all can support each other and when you can let others know about an item that is going to be sold on ebay. Any other suggestions from some others about how to set this up? Please post your suggestions here, and then I'll choose what I think will work the best. Love, Clara PS Donna, I never did get going with ebay. I have a lot of items ready to be put on ebay, but I still haven't set up my store. Does that surprise you?!?!?!?!

Carrie- You're very right about the security/privacy. I really like your idea. I think we should post our interest.... like say: prettyfeet...looking for Boys size 4T clothes and outdoor toys averysmom...looking for Boys size 6-12 mos and Girls size 3T Then the seller could post a PM to those with an interest the types of items they are selling. If the seller is unsure of one of the posters they don't have to PM them. If the post was stickied to the top of the page, once you posted your interests you could just edit it as your needs change (like kids growing). When you are selling something, you could just scan the list of what people are looking for and PM those that are interested in your stuff and you trust.

;D I like the idea, too but also agree with Carrie. I would prefer to buy from an SG person rather than an e-bay stranger BUT am wary of some of the required info on e-bay. In fact, I have had an e-bay seller call our house looking for my DH over some perceived conflict regarding an auction. Anyway, good ideas, ladies.
