Clara, Just wondering if you have a new name as SG Moderator 1. I always look for your warm messages of hope and encouragement. I noticed today that a post was closed by a moderator and was wanting to know if that was you, or is there someone else now that has the motherly authority I look to you as having?
Thanks so much, Karla

Karla.. I was kinda wondering the same thing myself. Wasn't sure if it was Clara or another SG member that has been "appointed" as a mod.
Either way.. I'm glad it was closed.. such chaos here anymore at times.

Karla,
No, I don't have a new name, but while I'm at work sometimes I have to send off a quckie email to Admin asking for help until I can tend to the boards in the way I'd like.
Unfortunately, due to my work schedule today, I will not be able to give a "Clara" explanation for closing the thread until much later this evening. Your Cyber Mom has a hectic schedule today.
Thanks so much for you love and understanding.
Love, Clara

Wow, this kind of answers my question. That you are not the only one moderating the boards. I'm anxiously awaiting your further explanation later tonight. Thanks again.

Karla,
Don't get too excited. Joe (the Programmer, also my son), is the head Administrator of this entire site. Everything I do goes through Joe right now.
I am new to this type of board format, and I'm spending a lot of time just familarizing myself with all of the admin stuff (and driving Joe half crazy in the meantime! ;D). Right now, Joe is my SG partner.
Love, Clara

Clara, I'm not excited. Anywho, at first I thought maybe it was Joe, but he has his own login name. Huh. So I thought, probably not. And besides, in my recollection he's never closed topics before. Hence, my curiosity. I've just always found comfort in your choices in closing topics. If there are new moderators, then I was just wondering who they were. Just trying to get caught up on the new system around here. Thanks, Karla

I would hope that if there were members who were moderators that they would keep their name and it would just say Moderator underneath it. Clara. . .always keeping us on our toes

I agree, Rose ... And, that's exactly why I have declined the requests I've gotten over the years to moderate on other boards. (I did moderate on CMSG for a short time and got my fill of it then.)
If I did, I would want an anonymous name so I wouldn't be too personally stained with all the rotton tomatos that would surely be thrown at anyone in that position. On the other hand, as a member I would want the moderators known.
When I moderated on CMSG, most people were very kind and understanding and accepting of the authority that had been placed on me. But, it was the very few trouble-makers who would spoil my night every time. Ugh.
Kudos to Clara for all she does here at SG all by herself.

In my opinion, if the moderator is fair and unbiased, there would be no rotten tomatoes.

The problem is, your definition of fair and biased WILL be different than the moderator's. There are as many definitions of fair and unbiased as there are people. I moderate another board on another forum and I figure when I make both sides in a contentious thread mad or happy, I've done my job. It's when one side is more happy or mad than the other that maybe I'm not being fair

I guess what I was trying to say is if the moderator doesnt play faves with certain individuals, use their "power" to only take action (locking posts, booting people, etc) if they dont PERSONALLY agree with one side, etc. I totally agree that fair and unbiased is undefinable.
