If you are interested in putting your finances to use for the SilentGrief.com community, I would suggest that you use the ad-free link on the new message boards. For only $7 a month, the SilentGrief.com message boards can be ad-free and we can enjoy the same type of ad-free atmosphere that we did on our former message boards.

The $7 would only make the pages ad-free for me, right? Is there a way to make it ad-free for everyone ... like if so many people sign up for ad-free and pay the fee then it would be ad-free for all? Just curious.

The way I understand it is that it's $7 per 50,000 page views. I don't know the site stats on here, but I am pretty sure that will be less than a month Clara, is there anyway you can let us know how many Credits are on the account?? Love, Traci

And Clara has to apply the credits. . the more $7 she has the more pages we can view without ads, AFTER she applies them. . .

Dear SG Family,
I finally got a chance to do some exploring on the site, and currently we are "ad-free" because of the 28 credits we accumulated since the boards went live.
Thank you to all who donated to allow SG to be ad-free for the next 200,000 pages! ;D
So, for now we are using our 28 credits towards 200,000 ad-free pages. Each $7 pays for 50,000 pages being ad-free. That's wonderful!
Love, Clara PS Traci, the ads were appearing at the header of the homepage. They were fairly big ads, and they changed several times during the day.

I guess my ad-blocker was hiding them so that explains it. SO glad that we were able to get some credits towards ad-free

I'm not so sure about that...there are times I feel like I'm on here at least that much in a month by myself It's taking some getting used to, but I love the new boards Always, Valerie

For those wondering, the pages viewed are available to the administrators. As of this minute, SG has has 47,161 ad-free pageviews used! I am still trying to figure out how many credits we can use per month. The language is a little unclear, but at this time, we have enough credits to view 150,000 more pages ad-free. Personally, I really get bothered by the ads. They distract me, and they are not always ads for something we would want to see, although Joe was assured when he checked into this site that they will try to match only ads appropriate to our site. I'll keep you updated as I know more. Love, Clara

Wow thats a lot of page views already. At that rate ad-free is going to cost a minimum of $7 a week maybe $7 every 5 days. I wonder how important this is to everyone?

I am honestly not bothered by the ads. Plus while I would love to support SG, I just don't have the extra money to give for an ad-free board. If it were to keep the boards running in general, that would be different. Thank you to those who did contribute, though. I am so glad to have SG back to be able to keep up with my good friends, some of whom I've known since 2000 from CMSG! ;D So I guess my answer is that no, it's not important to me to have the boards ad-free. I am just thankful to have the boards Missy
