Kaitlyn is now 9 mos old. When we went for her 6 mos check up the dr heard a heart murmur and told us if she hears it again at her 9 mos well baby check that she would need a u/s on her heart. Today the dr heard it again. I know heart murmurs are common. My prayer is that she wont be part of the 1% that it will show more problems. I dont know when the u/s will be yet since the dr just saw her today.

My prayers are with you. Lily also had a heart murmur. She had an ultrasound done around 6 months (I think). It showed an opening that is usually closed by birth, but they said would probably close within a couple months on its own. She still had it at 12 months, and at 15 month check up. At her 18 month check up, the murmur was gone. Hang in there, and be positive!!! PLease keep us updated!!!
Blessings~ Wendy

Kaitlyn is in my prayers. So many have heart murmurs at that age that do later disappear. I will be praying that that will be the case for Kaitlyn.

Dear Rachel, Thinking of you and Kaitlyn. Brendan had a heart murmur as well but it closed on its own. Praying that the u/s will show it's nothing to worry about. God bless, Cheryl

Your family and Kaitlyn are in my prayers. I hope everything works out fine. I know my brother had a heart murmur until he was about 2.
So hopefully... and prayerfully... Kaitlyn doesn't fall in that 1% where it leads to more.
Please keep us posted on how things go.
THinking of you,
Darlene

My prayers are with you. Allison had to have one too about 1 1/2 months ago...very scary. She turned out to be just fine and I pray the same for your little angel. Please let us know how it goes.
Hugs, Jen

Just wanted you to know that Kaitlyn is in my prayers. My youngest daughter also had one. The last time they ever said anything about it was when she was 15 months....she is now 3. I know you are scared, but just try and remember, prayer is a powerful work of faith. Tonya

Our ped found a heart murmur at Nicholas's 2 year check up. (How they missed it for 2 years was beyond me at the time.) They had us in to a pediatric cardiologist the next day! He found that Nicholas has a mild thickening of his aortic valve. Basically, it is no big deal, just something that we have to monitor once a year. His only restriction as long as he has this is that he can't weight train, so no football or weight lifting for him. The dr. said that it will either 1. just go away on it's own, 2. Nicholas will grow out of it when he hits puberty, or 3. it will just remain like that forever. So we drive to Phoenix once a year to have his heart u/s. We could find a different dr, but we just love this guy. He is amazed that we drive 2 hours to see him, but it is worth it.
I know it is hard, but try to take a deep breath and relax until you find out for sure what is going on. I'll be keeping Kaitlyn in my prayers.
Pam

((((hugs)))) My prayers are certainly with you. It's my prayer that all will show up healthy and well! ;D Just as a FYI, I have a heart murmur--have had one apparently since birth. I've never had any restrictions or any problems, and I'm getting to be an OLD lady! Please know that I'm not making light of your very real concerns. I just want you to know that most murmurs are classified as benign murmurs--needing no kind of intervention. This is my prayer for your precious little one. Please keep us posted. Love, Clara
