AJ passed away at 5 weeks old. He had a fetal stroke. They are unsure if it happened inutero or during delivery. His entire brain was so severely damaged that only his brainstem was functioning. They predicted he'd live only a few days, but we were able to bring him home with hospice care and spend 5 wonderful weeks with him.

Any other comments I unknowingly caught a virus during pregnancy (human parvo virus) and it severely affected my unborn child. I became very ill and was taken into hospital. Two days later I was told that if I did not deliver my baby I would die. It was the hardest decision I've ever had to make but I already had a son and could not leave him. I consented knowing she would die and had an emergency caesarean immediately. She lived for just short of 9 hours. I never got to see her alive as she was too ill to be moved and so was I.

Any other comments ~ Leah was injured in a tragic MVA accident on her way back home from school. She lived one week before she passed into glory from a traumatic head injury. She was sweet child and loving child. Leah loved dancing, singing, cheerleading and drawing. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her big sissy Shayla. Leah is sadly missed but she will never be forgotten.

Any other comments ~Mason was our life and not having him with us in our family has been unbearable. He was an inspiration to us all and it was a great joy to have been his mother, father, sister, & grandparent. Till we are together again my sweet "Juicy".

Hello, Im new and dont know how to add my story/picture here.

My 4 year old son, Zack, was admitted into hospital with suspected Hepatitas, 2 weeks later we were told that he had contracted Cocksackie Virus + it had attacked his liver so badly he needed a liver transplant. We flew him to the Red Cross Childrens Hospital in Cape Town South Africa. We were told that they only do on average 5 liver transplants a year and he was put on the waiting list. A week later he was taken off the waiting list because the virus was still lodged in his lungs and he was no longer considered a viable candidate. He was put onto 4 hourly antibiotics and seemed to be improving, they then reduced the dosage, within a 24 hour period his condition derteriated and he started hallucinating, we had to tie him to the bed to keep him there for his drips. He then started convulsing, a day later the doctors put him onto morphine. To sit and watch your child die in agony is something I do not wish on anyone. His lungs collapsed and he passed away shortly after on 30.03.2006. Its been almost 7 months now and Im still crying all the time. Time hasnt eased the pain or memories. There are so many unanswered questions and the guilt and pain we're feeling is terrible.
