Just wanted you all to know that they are not one and the same. I'm not saying that any artifical sweetener is good for you...but just wanted you to know (especially if you've been drinking Splenda).
Stevia is an herbal sweetener that you can get at the healthfood store (although some healthfood sections of grocery stores may sell it). Its comes in a liquid or powder form (where you mix it yourself).
Splenda is the brand name for sucralose, a chemical derived from sugar. This is the sweetener that I use as I'm highly allergic to Nutrasweet (aka aspartame).
Hoped this helped to clear up some confusion.

Dawn is right. . stevia is an herb. . . and I don't think it tastes good at all. Splenda is my choice for artificial sweetner as well since I, too, am severely allergic to nurtrasweet (aspartame)

I will have to remember that if I get pg! My mom uses stavia due to her allergies to corn, wheat, soy, eggs, and many other GOOD things. She uses stevia quite often to sweeten things! I can't say it's my personal prefernce to sweeten, but mixed with other things like chocolate, it's not bad. Nikki.

Thanks for the post! I've been sick for the last couple of days (flu) and the only thing I've wanted to drink was Diet 7-Up. I guess they only make it with Splenda now so I've drank a 2 liter in about a day. I was getting worried when I read some other posts about Splenda and its affects on fertility. Phew!
