I found out that my Babies heart beat had stopped on 6/24 and had a D&C on 6/25.
I'm becoming a little worried/frusterated because:
At 1st my Dr. told me that my cycle would start from 4-6wks after the D&C. He was right, it started exactly 5wks later.
My next cycle was 35 days and I had breakthrough bleeding, which I never have. Then the next cycle was 40 DAYS (w/breakthrough)! Now I am on day 29 (again) although I did not have any breakthrough this month. I am feeling a little frusterated. Is this a normal pattern after m/c?
My next Dr. appt. is 11/28, shoud I contact them before then b/c of my LONG cycles?

Christal,
I'm sort of in the same boat as you but kinda the opposite. I found out that my baby's heart had stopped on 5/11 and took Misoprostal to "discharge my womb" that didn't work so I had to have a d&c on 6/11. My cycles ranged from 28 - 47 days BEFORE I got pg. Now after the m/c All of my cycles have been between 32-33 days except for this very last one which was 36 days. I know this doesn't help much but I wish you luck. I think it's usually normal to be a little messed up after m/c but all of the people I know that have had problems like that (in my little world away from sg) have been prescribed BC for a short time to get their cycles regular again.

Sometimes it takes a while for our bodies to "re-set" after a m/c, but this sounds like it might be a little too long. I would definately call and let the dr know, so they can set up any tests they may need to do. I had regular cycles before my m/c, and now they go as long as 100 days....turns out I have PCOS. Not to scare you, but I think my first m/c "triggered" the PCOS symptoms. I've probably had this for years. Good luck, and I hope you regulate soon. It's so frustrating when we can't get back to normal quickly.

Ok - what is PCOS?
2) I had 40 day cycles before getting pg & was put on Clomid. After the m/c my RE put me on BC pills to make sure that I didn't get pg again until they made sure that everything was safe for us. (Starting to think he's just trying to make enough to get a new car this Christmas!) He has told us that he will take me straight from the BC pill into Clomid at the end of the month. From everything we have learned from Dr's, friends & family - having screwy cycles after a m/c is VERY normal. If you are really wanting to go ahead & ttc now I would suggest talking to your Ob/Gyn. There are things that they can do to go ahead & start helping your system level back out.

I too, had never heard of PCOS. But, I did some research into it yesterday, and admit, that it scared me to death!! It can cause cyst on ovaries, obeisity, excessive hair on body, infertility, acne.... It is where you do not ovulate like you should and too much of the male hormone is released inculding adrogins. You can have no period for months at a time, then bleed for 1-2wks.
I do have some excess hair on my face, legs and arms, but do not think that I have PCOS. I do not have many of the other symptoms. Most of the women started their cycles very early in life, and were well developed. They were also mostly have had weight issues most of their lives. I am also 5'2 95lbs. (although that really may not matter). I have had hypoglaucemia, which is not a factor of PCOS, I believe it is the opposite.
I don't know.... hope that helps a little
