I was just wondering if anyone could answer this for me. For anyone who has undergone a D & C approximately how long did it take for your AF to come back? Also, did that help with the hormone issue and some of the depression?
Thanks ahead of time for any replies that I may receive. You all have been some much of a help to me that you will probably never know.
Thanks and God bless us all.

My Dr. told me anywhere from 4-6 weeks after D&C AF would start, and for me it started exactly 5wks later. My cycle has been a little off the months following (ie:36,40,38 and 33 day cycle). I also had some breathrough the 2nd and 3rd cycles (which I had never had before). I'm doing better and ovulated at day 15 this month.
I had my D&C on 6-25-05 and to me, my hormones still feel a little off, but I am feeling better.
Hopes this helps a little - feel better

I had my D&C on 11/8/05. Last week my depression was at an all time high on Friday. By Saturday it had eased up a bit and each day the depression got a bit better. On Wednesday I had some weird abdominal pain that would come and go but noticed I was no longer feeling the "heaviness" just sadness - kwim?
This morning I woke up with some cramping, spotting and light bleeding. I am relatively sure this is my period. If so then it would be 3.5 weeks after the D&C.

Dear Lea Anne, I also found no heartbeat on 11/14, and my D&C was on 11/16...so we are right at the same time. I, too, was wondering about when my menstruation would return. Physically I am feeling a lot better, emotionally...well that's another story. It is difficult, isn't it? I will keep you in my prayers as we walk through this. God Bless You, ~Kellee

First, I'm so sorry for your loss.
AF took 6 weeks and 1 day to return after my D&C. My doctor said 4 to 6 weeks is normal, but sometimes it takes a little longer. He also said if AF didn't return in 4 to 6 weeks I could take birth control to jumpstart my cycle, but it wasn't necessary. I don't really know about the hormones - I was really depressed for a long time. Hope this helps! Jenn

I was a little different. Mine had no heartbeat on May 11th. Pills to enduce m/c. Didn't work. Hemhorraging on June 11th. D&C June 11th. And AF started on June 17th. It only took six days for me. Hoping AF comes quickly for you! *Hugs*

Concur with everyone else on the 4-6 weeks for a period after m/c. As far as AF brining some emotional relief/hormonal balance, that wasn't true for me. I had a D&C in late July, got AF four weeks later, and I would say that it wasn't until Nov. that I really started feeling better emotionally. Seems like a long time, but, unfortunately, time seems to be the only way to heal from these wounds.
