Dear Silent Grief Family,
Thanksgiving Day was made to be a holiday for us to celebrate our many blessings, among them the most basic of all--family, food, friends, a home, and our freedom--just to name a few.
As parents and family members who are deep in the throes of grief, it is often difficult to sincerely be thankful for a bounty of blessings when we long for one thing--the blessing of the life of the one we loved so dearly.
It is my most sincere prayer that the blessing of peace will be granted to each one that visits SG. Life is so often very hard and unfair. We don't understand "why" things happen as they do, yet we know that we must learn to live in an imperfect world that has a lot of pain and suffering.
May you be blessed with friendship and love this Thanksgiving Day. May peace wash over you enough to allow you the blessing of rest and thoughts of hope. May you be reminded that the pain you feel today will not always be this raw, and that hope and joy will eventually work its way back into your life.
Please take special care of yourself during this holiday. If it is too hard to do the "traditional' things, then do what feels best for you, and don't place extra guilt on yourself.
My many thoughts and prayers are with each member of the SG family.
Love, Clara
