Just a suggestion ..... I was thinking that it would be easier to keep track of each other if we all use our original username from the other SG boards. I am looking forward to "seeing" everyone here!
YEAH Clara and Joe for getting us up and running again!

It feels great to have the boards back online!
Just a follow-up note about usernames: don't forget that you can modify your profile, and you can set a public name (that differs from your login username).
Be sure to click the "Profile" link at the top of the page, then click the "Modify Profile" link to edit your info.

Sorry, i changed my user name, but . . . i dunno. This is a little weird I'm not sure how to use these boards. Like what is karma? and is there a chat board? what is the exalt/smite buttons?

Karma is basically a member rating system based on their actions. If you feel a member has done something good, you would give them positive karma, if you feel they have done something bad, you give them negative. This system either adds or subtracts 1 from the users karma count. This is only of course assuming the admin of the forum has enabled karma (in general settings in admin) The exalt link gives the user positive karma, and the smite gives them negative You are limited to 1 issue of karma each hour to avoid foul play If you click on the help button at the top of the screen you can read all about the features. There is not a chat board here but we can still use the old one at our msn site. groups.msn.com/SilentGrief

I think it's a great idea to use your original username, too, for easier identification of former friends! ;D Myra, I was just going to email Joe and ask him what "Karma" means.............thank you for your explanation. I feel somewhat like a "newbie", too. I'll probably be asking some of you about the features! Love, Clara PS I see that some of you have already figured out how to post your pictures and use the signature. Take a guess what I'll be doing this evening--exploring our new "home"!

I stuck w/my orginal username and truly hope many do too. I have a difficult time putting names w/usernames and who's doin what (ttc..pregnant..etc).
Once again Joe and Clara thank you to much for all you've done to keep this place of us.
I appreciate it from the bottom of my feet !

I, too, hope that folks keep their "old" user names... But just a thought: If you're going to change your user id for our "new" boards, maybe you can put something in your siggy stating something to the effect of "formerly [old user id]", so that we can figure out who is who... I can certainly see where some folks might want to change their ids (changed circumstances, etc.) but it would be great to put a little note in the siggy so we can keep up!

I know that when I had to re-register that when I went to put in my old username (Quinn's Mom) that it woudln't let me for some reason... maybe that is what has happened to some of the other members.
