I didn't find out with my two until 20/21 weeks, but mine both hid. I've read stories on SG of women on PAM finding out as early as 14 and 15 weeks. I know there's a higher risk for the tech being wrong the earlier you find out. And I know boys are usually easier to see than girls...I hope you find out in time to share with your family We were able to share the news of one of my pregnancies with family at Christmas and it was such a huge warm fuzzy! Do you live close enough to a sonography studio that will do a 3D for you? If you can't see or find out at your u/s (which I'm guessing is before Christmas?)...maybe you can pay for one separately and find out that way! Always, Valerie

My doctor has u/s scheduled at about 15/16 weeks for regular risk pregnancies. When I was pg with my DD she had her legs crossed at the first u/s and the tech and the doctor said they could not tell. I was so upset that I jumped up and down, ate a snack, did everything I could to get her to move but she wouldn't budge. I had placenta previa so I had another u/s a month later and she was pretty clearly a girl! :)The techs told me that the further a long you are the easier it is to tell. I guess everything is bigger! They said in the early teen weeks it is often hard to tell, even with some shy boys. This time around I had a level II u/s at 18 weeks and he showed everything right away!!!! I always want to know, it makes it so fun, I think! Good luck.

We were told at 17w 5d. However, the woman kept saying things like, This is what I think it is, so we are waiting until the next u/s to find out for sure.
Good luck!

If you're willing to pay, you can find out via a blood draw. Tests the genes in your blood...presence of y choromosomes means a boy.....they don't get filtered out by the placenta, I guess. Here's a link. Surprised my wife didn't mention it (Terrah). www.pregnancystore.com/baby_gender_mentor.htm
