dealing with a genetic cause of the IF/recurrent loss??
My husband nas a balanced translocation of 15 and 16, and are the cause of the 3 losses we've had. We've done IVF w/PGD and ICSI....no normal embryo's...
Started donor sperm IUI's last month...first one failed. Dh carries an unusually high number of affected sperm, and will not do IVF with his sperm and my eggs again, so ds was our only option.
Anyone else dealing with genetic issues?

My DH has a balanced translocation (1 & 4) as well. He has a terribly low sperm count and low morphology and motility. I just had my 2nd IUI with donor, my first one failed too. We're also both cystic fibrosis carriers(cf) and our DS has cf. IVF with PGD is soooo expensive so we chose to go the donor route. When do you go in for your 2nd IUI? I have a test date of the 24th and I really hope it worked this time. I have a friend of a friend whose DH used donor and got pregnant on her first IUI. Her DH has some genetic problem that he didn't want to pass down and that's why they went the donor route. Just wanted to say that I'm right there with you and send some good luck vibes your way.

hi christina...
we've done 10 iui's, 3 ivf's w/pgd and the number of affected sperm, apparently for my dh are close to 90%....none of our embryo's were normal. NONE. His counts were always fantastic...highest was 264 million with 80% motility and 74% morphology....all good....and post wash he was at 127 million.... we had no choice but to move on to donor sperm...no one would cycle us, together, anymore. First IUI failed, and needed to take a break, emotionally, but looking at April for next dsiui.... i will post when that comes up.
Good luck to you, and best wishes on the 24th..... I've not given up completely, but not looking for miracles anymore either.
