I just started doing follistim injections with IUI. What is considered a good amount of follicles to have for this procedure. I hope it works.
Lendy, how many follicles did you have?

I got pregnant on my first try with IUI (double IUI) and clomid followed by trigger shot. I only had one follicle so I didn't think it would work. My husband has low motility and I have mild PCOS. It was not that bad getting the IUI. Unfortunately, I just lost my baby 4 days before his birth... so back to IUI for us this year.
Good luck, Heidi

We have a little one that will be 2 in January. We got pregnant the first time with we had an IUI, using Follistim. I had tried clomid the first month, and it did nothing for me. We have tried since, approximately 4 times, and nothing! I have started seeing a new dr, who found that I had endometriosis, so he performed a laparoscopy procedure on me to get rid of it. The first round of IUI’s with him was unsuccessful, with Bravelle. I just had another IUI today (PRAY to GOD that it works)!, but we used, Bravelle, Manipur AND Loprin - -all injectables. Good Luck to you and hope you have success! Maybe ask your doctor about Endometriosis??

Well, I think in reading this thread I am one of the most expereince IUI person here! In the past 7 years, I have had a total of 12 IUI's in combo with injections (Puregon, gonal F and Superfact ,Luveris) and with donor sperm. I have one LC, Caleb who is 3 1/2 years old! He is miracle number one! And I was pregnant with miracle number 2 in July after the one and only IUI this year! But I lost Simon at 19weeks 5days due to placental abruption. So in the New year we will attempt to try again! Hopefully we will have success again!
IUI feels like a pap smear, but I always felt which side the pipet (straw) was point at! then I laid around for 10 mins and usually had a little cramping. Sometimes in the evening I would have more crampy feeling, usually due to O'ing though. I always took the day or two ooff work just to relax at home and put my feet up! It probably isn't necessary but I do it! Anything for a day off work!! LOL!
Hopefully all those who are trying IUI have a good success!
Angela!

I just had two IUI's this weekend after a round of injectables (Gonal F). After five days on 75 CC the doctor increased me to 150 and then to 225. I only had one mature follicle (19.4) and one at about 14. I would be interested to hear from anyone on Gonal F and find out their age and dosage. If this round does not work the doc wants to increase my dosage next time.

Lendy! I had IUI done and I just found out on Tuesday of last week that I was not successful on the first try. I was on Clomid and Gonal F injectables. The IUI procedure was a little uncomfortable for me but not that bad. I had some slight cramping after the procedure but not that bad. It involves them utilizing a speculum and placing a small catheter through your cervix and injecting the sperm into there. It s the catheter going through and the injecting of the sperm that causes the cramping. Nothing Tylenol can not help. It works! I hope you find out that you were successful. As I have been told the older you are the more chances of becoming pregnant on the first IUI is lower. I will be repeating again in June to attempt to be a futuremom..... PEACE! Lori

Hello everyone, I just wanted to put my story up here. My husband convinced me to go off the pill January of 08 so I did. Low and behold no period... Therefore impossible to concieve. I waited a whole year before i went to a specialist. Oh my gosh it is beyond frusterating going every day for blood work and ultra sound not to mention the medicine, premetrium to start period, then clomid, then ovidrel shot. NEVER ENDING well the first cycle everything went smooth but the IUI didnt take. Very discouraged I was over it. I kept on trucking though I had two iui cycles cancelled due to a cyst and then the follies not getting big enough. Finally in April we did our second IUI and finally a BFP I am 8 weeks today and the babies heart rate is 181 bpm i am so excited. Keep your faith it will all work out.
