I have been reading about ativan, and it says that you don't remember anything after it wears off, is that true? That kind of freaks me out almost as much as thinking about the needles and drills they will use to get my teeth out! Has anyone here takin ativan? What should I expect, I am a huge hypochondriac so I am thinking the worst like an allergic reaction. It is actually kind of funny, I am freaking out about taking something to calm me down. Gotta love anxiety!

I don't know about the Ativan but wanted to say hope it goes quickly and as painless as possible. The cost and the procedure were keeping me from getting my 4 pulled but they are starting to bother me so I'm thinking January will be the month. Hope you find out from someone their expierence with Ativan. Take care!

Actually Brody takes Ativan! But his is such a low dose now...but in the beginning it would make him very loopy and goofy and then PLOP sound asleep! Sorry I can't ask him if he remembers anything afterwards...he's napping right now!LOL! I do know adults who have used it and never had any bad effects from it. Just said it calmed em down! I am the world's most 'scaredy cat' dental patient and what helps me is just to focus on my breathing and keep my eyes shut.I hope it goes quickly and there are no 'reactions'. Love and peace, xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo me

I am not sure about that drug but a few years back when I got my wisdom teeth pulled I WAS A NERVOUS WRECK!! I seriously thought I would have a heart attack or something. I am a huge baby when it comes to any pain with my teeth or mouth. (Ive had horrible experiences). I remember when I was in the chair and they were prepping me and I told the doc. . .there is no way you will be able to put me to sleep!! Not 10 sec later I WAS OUT COLD! I BARELY remember the car ride home, DH said I was saying some pretty funny stuff, but then I really woke up at home, in bed and my dog curled up next to me.
The only advice I can give you is to try NOT to take the pain pills they give you if possible. Or at least not more than a coupe of days. Swich to advil or something as soon as you think you can. Those pain pills make you feel like CRAP, and I was actually starting to depend on them to sleep!!

Don't worry...people make having your teeth pulled seem as bad as labor but it's not. At least not for me. I too have always hated the dentist. I even punched one when I was a kid...but he deserved it! Anyhow..I took a valuim and was sooooooo loopy by the time I got in there I told the dentist I could pull my own teeth! I had all 4 pulled at once and the best thing I did was come home and rest...stayed in bed and ended up with very little swelling. I had it done on a Friday after work and went back Monday and nobody even knew! I hope it's as easy for you as it was for me. Just make sure to rest afterwards! I'll be thinking of you! Hugs, Di

Oh my, maybe my prescription is only sugar pills.LOL I remember everything. I don't take it everyday, just when my stress level is so that my eye is twitching and my head is going to explode at the same time. Ironically it is also used for anti-nausea for chemo treatments. That's when i was first given Ativan and it REALLY worked for both my nerves and the nausea. It can make you loopy at first, it really takes the edge off. Hope this helps.
Take Care, Alea

Wisdom teeth give so much problem if there is any issue with them. I recently had root canal treatment from the professional dentist Redondo Beach. I was having quite difficult time eating food and sometimes water at room temperature used to be problematic. But I am glad that I got professional treatment and the entire problem is gone now.
