Weslea's birthday is June 2, so we are going to the place where she wanted her birthday this year. The Golfin' Dolphin. I haven't yet decided if we are going to invite friends or keep it a family affair. We are going to do some golfing...batting cages, games and what not then before we leave set off 5 balloons for her...

I became a mom 8 years ago today to my only son.
I remember him quietly and privately - no cake no balloons no cemetary. His is in my heart today and every day.

Maggie's 1st birthday is Sunday (the 2nd) so we're going to visit her grave and let off one balloon (just like we did the day she was buried), and then the 3 of us are going to an amusement park for the day. I just can't imagine sitting at home, ya know? The balloon thing will happen every year, but I'm sure we'll do different things each year. God, I miss her.

I burn a candle on my daughter's birthday on a cake. Its really touched my heart and remind memories of my daughter. I hope God cares my child.

My sister bought me a charm bracelet right after my 5 year old daughter died. Every year since then, I have bought a new charm that reminds me of her to add to it for her birthday. I will stop when she would have turned 18. It has been 9 years and I still do this every year. It is a private way that I can still go out and buy a gift on her day to let her know I am still her mother and still think of her. It helps me...it really does. I pull it out and wear it on those special days when I need a little bit of extra strength.

Our close friends just lost a baby last week and our entire community is getting together tonight to have a candlelight vigil in his honor. 400 balloons, 200 lights, should be a beautiful ceremony
