sorry this is long.
so background: i cough, alot (seriously, i cough until my face is red and I dry heave about 8 times per day now) , and no one knows why... 4 years now, and the best they can do is chalk it up to asthma.. it gets worse when pg..... THey have given me every asthma med out there, and NONE have ever worked..... including prednisone. i question whether asthma is the cause of the cough.
yesterday I go see the pulminologist again: my BP was 141/91, pulse high, and I was hacking away in front of him..... he gives me another of the same meds to try and scolds me "well, you're pg, we can't do much testing or else right now" .... i am so mad- i saw him 3+ times last spring in anticipation of being pg, and he was lackadaisical about it... my question was: when do i get worried about the baby- this can't be healthy? they say at rest my Oxygen is 100% and that is all that matters. I am PETRIFIED of having a c-section if I cough this hard...
well, if you turn blue, come to the er. maybe I will call your ob later again.
seriously??
I want to cry. I was induced due to high BP last pg, on bedrest, shouldn't someone be concerned on the high readings? Do I call my midwife instead?? the med he gave me is Class C too. it stunts growth in children and has not been studied in pg...
i want to switch drs but my insurance is awful, that this is dr. #4 in my plan that i've seen, and even though i am in Boston, the next closest one is 10 miles outside the city. (with all the good/ major hospitals here, those ain't the cream of the crop) I would be willing to pay and drive, but I have no idea how to find someone good...
i am not sure what to even ask my midwife if I call?? i guess she'd say just take it easy for now, and go to the u/s monday, but I am really starting to freak out.... argh.... i am really miserable and frustrated.
