Help me out here, please. I can't find my meds list. What can I take for heartburn? I didn't have any last time, but it is killing me this time. Oh, and bananas hurt as bad tomato sauce. I'm hoping the results of that Hopkins study are true and that #2 has hair, unlike his big brother.
Thanks!

Tums are fine, nasty little things, but they are fine to take. Plus I was prescribed Zantac with both my boys, and next time I go in, I am asking for another prescription. You can buy Zantac over the counter also. I was on the maximum dose of Zantac per day from 15 wks with my boys...just lately now my heartburn has started really flaring up again, waking me up at night...horrible feeling, and I can't handle it anymore. Tums just aren't doing the trick...so back to Zantac i'm sure I will go:) Sorry you are having heartburn, it sucks major.

I was presribed tagament with Cate. That old wive's tale was only true for one kid for me. Had HORRIBLE heartburn with Sara and Cate (worse with Sara). Only Cate had a head full of hair.

Sabrina, actually, it isn't an old wives tale. Hopkins did a study a few years ago that actually showed a correlation between heartburn and hair

I've had BAD heartburn with both my other pregnancys and both my boys had hair:) I don't put much stock into it, cause I've seen it turn out both ways, but it's always fun to see if it happens.

Maria you are a mess!LOL I don't put much into the heartburn/hair thesis either because I had so much heartburn with my oldest and she was born with no hair then with Niyah I had no heartburn and she had a head full of hair. I pray this little girl has hair but again I don't have alot of heartburn.
Anyway tums works well. Feel better soon.

I had a prescription for Zantac when I was pg with Tori and it worked wonders! The problem with tums is the excess calcium carbonate when you pop them like candy. Stick to a dose lower than the recommended while pg to stay safe, or see a dr for a prescription to stay on the safe side oh, I wanted to add that I had awful heartburn for almost the entire pg with Tori and she had tons of hair eta~ here's a site I came across...I hope that it helps:) SafeFetus.com

OTC Zantac is perfectly safe! I took the Walmart brand of it when I was pg with Madi and still use it. It's wonderful! and only $4 for like 60 pills GL! Hope you're feeling better soon!

Whatever causes the hair growth has the potential to make you sick/give you heartburn. I researched it too when I was pregnant with Grai. I was sick as a dog and she had a head full of hair. It has the potential but doesn't mean it will always work that way!

I had horrible horrible heartburn with both my kids and they were both baldies when born - which was actually just fine b/c I love slick-headed babies. LOL
The only thing that helped when I was pregnant was Mylanta Supreme. Tums actually made my heartburn worse.
