Good morning! Well my 2WW is officially half over now, and I'm getting very excited/nervous for the weekend... I really want that BFP so today's agenda includes 2 classes, 3 hours of studying and 2 hours of research... Oh goody I can't wait until this semester is over! Unfortunately I'll only have 10 days off before my Summer classes start

Hey, Niki. I am still getting a very, very faint bfp, so not really "trying" yet. I can't believe how many bfps have shown up in one month...usually it is one or two here and there. You'll all have your bfp's before I can officially ttc! Hopefully we can add a few more this month!

Debs, I really hope you get that BFN before the week is up!
Niki, you're almost to your testing day. CAMC for a BFP for you!!
I just got my first round of blood work done. I'll go back on Friday for more and then see the RE on April 21st and I'm sure he'll start me on the Lovenox at that point, once he can find a heartbeat. Also scheduled my first appt. with my regular OB. I am cautiously excited. Trying to remember that this time we know about my clotting disorder and the Lovenox should take care of that for me.

Tara,
what is the purpose of the lovenox? (forgive me if I should know) Were you diagnosed with a clotting disorder?

Yes, Debs. I have MTHFR. They have me on extra folic and baby aspirin for now but the hematologist felt we'd need Lovenox for the first eight months and then switch to Heparin for the last month .

Praying for the BFN for you Debs!
Looking forward to a great update Tara ... I just know that this is your sticky rainbow baby ;D
as for me, I've had CR CM for the last 3 days, which is very reminiscent (sp?) of how it was when I was pg with Tori ... Just another way to drive myself crazy!

That is a good plan.
The reason I am asking is because it used to be standard practice to wait for the heartbeat to give the lovenox. The latest research is showing that clots may form even earlier in pregnancy than thought, so it is best to start the meds at the time of the bfp.
This is a larger concern with autoimmune disorders like I have than with hereditary ones like mthfr, especially where you are on the aspirin, but you do want to start it asap. You may want to call the RE and just verify that he wants you to wait for the appt.

I'll talk to him later, Debs. He's going to call me when he gets my blood work results. Thanks for the info. I know he told me that he was concered that if the pregnancy were to be ectopic that the Lovenox could cause complications. I think that was his reason for waiting until about six weeks. Do you think the baby aspirin will help the clotting until then?

Yes, the baby aspirin will help. I don't think it is an emergency; I'd just ask him as soon as it is feasible. The issue with ectopic would be increased bleeding. In your shoes, as soon as they see a sac, etc. in the uterus, I'd probably ask if it would be okay to start it.
If your disorder were autoimmune instead of hereditary, I'd push to start it now. The risks to baby are higher than possible bleeding from ectopic. But it sounds to me like they are keeping a good eye on you!

Thanks Debs! I'm just so glad I went for the testing after I lost my son at 14 weeks and that they found the MTHFR clotting factor. I had never heard of it before they diagnosed me and although it's scary it feels a little better knowing a possible reason for the miscarriage.
I was hoping to see the RE next week. I'm going to ask him when I speak with him later. He's super nice so I'm sure he'll be agreeable to whatever I want!

With hindsight, it is so much better knowing. Now you can do everything in your power to prevent mc; you know that if it happens again, it was not due to something that you could have prevented. MTHFR is something manageable. I'm glad you had the testing done.
