I need some help, I am getting the beginning of a stupid stupid cold, My nose is runny yet stuffy, if that makes any sense, I couldnt breathe through my nose last night so i had a heck of a time sleeping, and my head is feeling really congested.. What can I take that works well and is safe to take during pregnancy? My Dr. called me back right now and said Sudafed is ok, and Tylenol Cold, and Robitussin.. Im just nervous and need some help to see what you guys would or have taken and what works best.. TIA UPDATE: Ok I went down to the pharmacy at work and bought some day-time multi symptom relief pills, the active ingredients are Acetaminophen, Dextromethorphan HBr, and Phenylephrine HCI... I asked the pharmacist and he said these are ok to take. Why am I so nervous to take them? Or take anything? Ugh, I need some relief though my nose is goin raw from me blowing...

ps...robitussin DM...not CF...cf is not safe in pg...

My colds usually affect my sinuses the most. I generally take sudafed, and if it is really bad will add acetaminophen.
At night, I have found that vicks vaporub really helps when you don't dare take anything stronger. I hope you are better soon!

I was told anything tylenol (that you have to go to the pharmacy and buy, not the over the counter stuff), and sudafed (same thing, from the pharmacy only). So that's what I buy. I was told the over the counter stuff hasn't been around long enough to really know for sure. But everyone is told something different, so I'm not sure what to believe. Personally I take sudafed and it works great, with no harsh effects. (At least none on me, and as of last night at the hospital the baby was doing fine as well.)

Hey girl! I took Tylenol Daytime (something or other) when I was pregnant with Cade. I think it is okay, don't be nervous! Esp. since you asked the pharmacist.
Hugs, xo
