Hey Guys. Finally checking in this morning. I've had a bad weekend - toothache that kept up last night, pretty sure I have a kidney infection, and a yeastie! SO, when I started running a temp Sat night (kidney infection) I was very bad and went ahead and started amoxicillian. I hope this isn't resistant to it. I had an entire bottle left from May when I had strep. The dr's office faxed in augmention, intern at pharmacy misplaced it, oncall doc changed it to amoxicillian, and then my dr changed it back to augmentin the next day. I don't usually take antibiotics without permission, but I figured in this case it was ok. If my culture comes back negative, then I will stop taking it.
Then I toothache last night that nothing helped. I took tylenol 3 and nothing. Tried a heating pad, nothing. Finally caved in and took a small dose of motrin. WALLAH, relief.
The yeast infection, well I have the 3 night suppository from monitstat. Started that Saturday night and it is much better.
I was thinking about when to start maternity leave.. I was seriously considering the 12th because my boss is driving me crazy because of his inexperience. Then I realized, I only have to get through the next couple of days (off on Thursday and Friday). The 2 weeks after that, he is totally out of town and not around to bug me. So I think I can get through the 12th and maybe even the 19th with no problems.
Sara is still sick, so I am taking her to the dr. I plan to get a copy of my er report from when I was there last and see if they copied her on my culture and the result. Nurse when I called said ohh poor honey. Sara started running a temp on Saturday.

morning all!
hooray for a moving box Nikki! and yay for your lotion ingredients coming in! have fun playing with all the stuff!
Liz, i'm sure that your anxiety is from the upcoming appointment, but everything is going to be just fine. even more than fine... perfect!
Hey Krystle! so glad to see you on this morning... bedrest sucks, but at least you have the laptop!
so last night i spent nearly 2 hours in L&D ... and it turns out that i have the beginnings of a bladder infection. GOODY! (can you feel the sarcasm dripping?!) i'm now on Sulfatrim (?) (the non-penacillin anti-biotic) and hopefully that will get it cleared up soon. Jellybean was great while on the monitors, and holy cow was s/he ever active! the nurse couldn't stop commenting on how active the baby was, but it was the right time of day. ususally between 4 and 6 in the afternoon J-bean gets up to play for a while.

Nikki you are so much braver than me. However, I'm a high risk pregnancy. If you are low risk, no issues.

I'm so jealous. I love Carrie Underwood. Her new song makes me cry. It's the one where she gets married and her dh is in the military and he dies. Seriously cry everytime I hear that song!!

Silly boss just sent me an email saying that he wants me to get a dredging contract ready. Hah. I'll put clauses in, but that will be all I have time for before leave. He asked me how things were going and I told him about the preterm labor. Men, they don't get it. Hope he doesn't think I am going to work on leave. Once I go on leave, I am done. I plan no contact till after baby is here.
Then dh this morning says, so we are having a baby 10 January (goal date of 35 weeks). Ummm NO. That is our goal to get to. It can be anytime from 10 January to 14 February and I plan on keeping her in as long as possible.

I'm so glad everything is ok Niki! Sorry about the infections to both you and Sabrina! Toothaches are not any fun either! Hang in there Sabrina, time's flying and before you know it you'll be on leave and won't have to put up with the crap anymore.
LOL people keep telling me that but honestly I don't feel brave. One of the reasons I have homebirths is because going to a hospital gives me a panic attack, and thats just visiting someone. Goodness knows how I'd be if I was the one in the hospital. To me, brave would be going to the hospital, LOL I know bassackwards (as my Daddy says) there. Plus after all the research, it's what I'd do anyway if I didn't have the anxiety to worry about.

Well my fever broke this morning and my urine looked better. No protein and the leukocytes went from 3+ to 1+. So looks like I made the right decision starting amoxicillian. Kidney pain is better. Hooray. Now how to explain to my ob when my urine suddenly looks better......

Well with me because of the bp issues, I have about a 80% chance of being on mag sulfate. Which means I would HAVE to be in the hospital because of the chance of seizures (what mag prevents). My ob has already warned me, I'll most likely be on mag and he is keeping me on it for 48 hours after delivery. Then you have a breech baby. My girlfriend works as an OR recovery nurse. She said chances are this one won't turn (although a lot do) because she has never been head down and because I will be delivering early.

Tell him you took the antibiotics, I wouldn't think taking them when you noticed the normal symptoms would be bad.
