I'm waiting for my dr. to open back up after lunch, so i thought i'd ask here until i can get ahold of them!
I'm on Macrobid for my UTI, but now i think i have a YI because of it. When i had a YI at 8 weeks, i used the monistat stuff, and it went away. BUT, it made me crampy everytime i inserted it, and that bothered me.
Does anyone know if there is anything other then Monistat that you can use? Is diflucan ok when pregnant?

Not sure, but I hope you can use something that doesn't make you crampy!

Diflucan is Pregnancy Category C so it is only used if the benefits outweigh the risks. Good luck!!!

Well, dr said no diflucan, only monistat. She said to try to insert it only half way up the vagina this time. Said the cramping could have been from the ovule being inserted too close to the cervix?

my doc told me absolutely NO on the diflukan.. she said it can cause liver damage and there is no way she would perscribe me that while pregnant. eating yogurt will clear those nasty YI right up. i had 4 UTI's and 3 YI while pregnant. they go hand in hand when your pg...isn't pregnancy fun? !!!
