We just lost our little one (would have been our first) at 13 wks 3days. Found no heartbeat with ultrasound Jan. 5th. I had a D&E on the 9th. The next day, totally unexpected and not forewarned it might happen, my breasts swelled tremendously and started leaking. It was very heartbreaking at first but then quickly became the last link to my baby. When that started to subside, I was left with another wave of grief to deal with, but with God's help and a loving husband and family I have been able to just keep breathing. Then when I feel like things are starting to take on a little more "normalcy", almost two weeks later I have an all over body itching that doesn't seem to have any cause. There is no redness or rash, just all over itching...even on my face and in my hair. I was just wondering if anyone has had this after a miscarriage or might know if unusual allergies could occur after the surge of hormones subsides?

(((Dana)))~
First of all, I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you find the support at Silent Grief that you're looking for.
Now, about the itching, I never had all over body itch, but I did have itching on my boobs and stomach after my first loss. I *think* it was everything stretching and shrinking. Have you tried using Cocoa Butter? That might help with the itching...
Love,
Mandee

Im sorry for your loss Dana, my thoughts and prayers are with you. As for the itching, can it just be the stress and nerves? If if keeps up, Id just mention it to your doctor. Hugs to you Kelly

I'm so sorry for your loss. What kind of anesthesia were you given for your D&E? Itching can be a common side effect after a spinal anesthesia, and it is intense, I experienced it a few days after my c-section with Ryan. General anesthesia can cause any number of adverse reactions...some do occur a couple weeks later. If it continues, I'd definately consult the doctor.

hi i didn't have an D & E but i had my miscarriage natural but the pains got too bad so i went to the emergancy room and they gave me pain medications and stuff and when i went home i was still in the process of my miscarriage and early that morning i passed the baby but after everything and after i showered and everything i was really itchy my lower back and my bottom and kinda all over like i had hives or something but nothing was there i think it was just a reaction to the pain medication or something it should go away and maybe it might come back here and there cuz mine went away and then days later it came back so i think it was just a reaction to something
